Okay, so far I've figured out:

1. You can pop a G19 mag into a G26 and use the A&G collar.

2. SIG makes a 10-round mag with the pinkie collar for the P239.

3. There's a 14-round mag for the CZ 2075 with the built-in collar.

Are there similar options for the S&W M&P9c and the SA XD9c? What other SC's have this as an option/possibility that I'm missing? The search function on here gets pissy at me if I try to search for more than three words at a time...

Thanks...

ETA: looking at 9mm only, please.

Even the subcompact models? No kidding...

ETA: are you sure? The S&W site says the M&P9 full-size has a 17-round capacity, whereas the M&P9c has a 12-round capacity...

You don't even need the collar (aka, grip extension) to use the full-size mags. I have the XD9 Tactical and sub-compact, and they can both use the 16-round mags. The sub-compact's 13-round mags won't work in the tactical, though, because they are not long enough.

In fact, the XD9 subcompact comes with a 13-round and a 16-round mag. The 16-round mag has the grip extension on it, but the magazine itself is the same magazine that comes with the Tactical (and service model, for that matter).

12 rd S&W mags ( 469, etc) place the finger rest in perfect position as is in a Kel Tec P11 . The 15 rd mags fit and function, but depending on your hand size and shape might be more comfortable with an adapter.
A 12 rd will interfere with most pocket carry, but usually fine for belt and IWB carry.

Thanks, keep 'em coming.

And to clarify: I'm looking for a subcompact 9mm that will accept a high-capacity mag with a collar that fills in the gap between the bottom of the grip and the butt of the mag.

I do the same thing with my XD .40sub. I put the 12rnd mag from my .40 service in the sub all the time. My reason is I won't pay that much for an extender around the bottom of a 12rnd mag, and they (SA) won't sell me just the plastic piece.

Bump to the top...anyone know if the standard Beretta Px4 mag will fit in the Px4 subcompact? And if so, whether there's a collar/mag extender available? Haven't been able to figure that one out yet...

Thanks...

Probably a duplication, but:

1. My S&W 6905 (standard 12rd mags) will accept and function perfectly with the 15rd mags from the 5906.. A S&W adapter is available so the longer mag will look "factory".

2. My P2000sk (standard 10rd mags) will accept the 13rd mags from the full size P2000. The X-grip/adapter is available so the longer mag will look "factory"..

I have both and both work perfectly.. Surpisingly I like the "feel" of both pistols with the longer mags & adapters than the originals.

Cool, thanks.

Yeah, I plan on trying a few subcompacts at the range...I'm reasonably certain that whichever one I like and choose, I'll like it that much more when I've got the full-size mag in with the grip extender.

The XD9sc originally came with a 10 round mag, and then the extended 16 round mag. Just bought the new flat bottom 13 round mag at the gun show this weekend. I use this Springfield as my "gun car" and it's nice to know I'm now protected by a full 30 rounds of 9mm while I drive. Not bad for a "little" gun!

When I used to own a 1911, I would use 10-rd. mags in competition. Instead of buying a spacer, I'd wrap grip tape @ 10 times around the exposed part of the mag. Cheaper than the spacers, and gave a better grip when reloading. I'm sure it would work on the double-stacks too....

from posts 2 and 3 above, am I to understand one can use 17-round magzs for the SW M&P 9c? If yes, is there a solution for filling the gap between the bottom of the 9c grip and the bottom of the mag?

Thank you,
Gene
