Swager- need to adjust every time

At least with the CH4D you don't have to mess around with changing an internal post or if it has a dimple on the end when changing brands of brass. Set it once for small crimp and plow through them all with realitive ease. I purchased the combo kit with added Ram Prime punches.

I bought one of these a few years back. I was ripping all the heads off. Obviously, I was doing something wrong but at the time I did not know what that was.

Still looking for the easy way out.

After looking at several alternatives and obliterated a huge number of case, nothing beats this system for swaging cases.

Although probably the most expensive method, I haven’t found anything manually operated that beats the swage on the 4 digit Dillon presses. It’s part of the reloading process on them, not an extra process that has to be done first.

It’s station #3 on this press, between the size/deprime and prime stations. 10 cases swaged in 15 seconds and loaded too.

Get the right sized shell holder to prevent pulling the rim edge off
But then as a growing C-H fan, I found they have a primer pocket swage - https://www.ch4d.com/products/equipment/case-tools/psk

When I ordered on the phone, I asked if there was any consideration for their swage and they said if I used Lee shell holder for .223/5.56 to order C-H shell holder for tighter fit to prevent pulling the rim edge off

As @GeoDudeFlorida has said essentially many times, I get up close & personal with each case and know most by their first name.
True. But I’m not in the same class as the 9mm/5.56mm multimag professional trigger pullers so there’s really no comparison. I cut the crimps out of 9mm brass using a handheld Lyman pocket reamer. That puts me in the lone minority category.

I've had two Dillon swagers and kept going back to my RCBS on press swager. Simpler operation, just as fast and doesn't ruin cases as easily as a Dillon.

I set the RCBS unit shallow so it will swage any case and then develop a feel for the cases that have a thicker web so I don't over swage them.

I've abandoned swaging now though, use a Hornady crimp cutter now since I don't load thousands of lake city cases for highpower anymore.

I get it but I feel swaging the metal back might get me a few more firings before the primer pocket gets loose. Trying to use my time at most benificial level.
