I want a CZ 75 for home defense, range, and concealed carry/car usage; I like the sleek feel and classic look. Also, I want something a little larger for shooting accurate groups at the range, as well as being a better fighting gun than say my Ruger LCR (I work in the worst part of town and don't think the 5 .38s will cut it against multiple armed assailants).
That being said, I've often seen it posted that the CZ 75 isn't obsolete, but is probably outdated. I imagine these people prefer guns like the SP01 and P09. Am I really short-changing myself by not choosing one of these over the tried-and-true CZ 75?
To me, the SP01 is too heavy/big, and frankly a little blocky-looking (I know looks shouldn't matter, but they do, even if they are at the end of the list). Does the weight up-front help at the range at all? Also, the CZ 75 takes the same mags, so the SP01's higher capacity is moot.
The P09 is nice, but its mags are pricey and I actually would like a little weight for shooting at the range.
So basically, for the TLDR crowd, am I really losing much by going with a CZ 75 over a CZ SP-01 or P09 with regards to a paper-puncher/self-defense dual-use pistol?
