First I'm sorry about my rant.
I recently purchased a Taurus PT1911 (NEW). So today I field stripped it so that I could clean it. After cleaning it I reassembled it and slid the slide a few times to check that it was functioning properly. Well on the fourth try I couldn't get it to rack again so I stopped. I called Taurus Customer Service and explained to the guy what had happened his response was "Take it to a local gunsmith to see if he can fix it, so that you don't have to wait 2-5 weeks for us to do it." Now I don't know about anybody else, but when I buy a NEW gun or anything for that matter that has a warranty why the Heck should I have to pay somebody else to fix the problem when it is covered by the manufacturer? I will admit this is only the second time that I have had to deal with a firearms manufacturer due to a problem with a gun. My first time was when I had my Kel-Tec P11, I had broken the assembly pin. I called Kel-Tec told them what was wrong the guy asked me for my address and said I should have it in 1-2 weeks. 3days later it was in my mailbox. So am I wrong to expect the same if not better service from a company that cost me more money? I don't think so.
I just needed to rant. Thanks for reading.
