I took this pistol out to the range today and ran 80 rounds through it [Federal Automatch]. The first round was a stove pipe. Ejected the magazine and racked the spent casing out. Put the magazine back in....and it started running the rounds through it. Out of the 80 rounds, I still got a few FTE, and two where the extractor didn't pull the casing out, but most of them ran like normal. I'm going to assume the first range outing was due to it being new and this setup will require a bit of a break in period. And that's fine with me....I have a lot of Federal Automatch! I wonder if it has anything to do with that linear comp I put on? I didn't have it on the first range trip.
This gun is actually pretty fun. At 7 yards, I can just about get all the holes at least touching, which is about on par with my bull barrel Mark II target with some Volquartsen parts in it. I ran the last 10 rounds aiming at the 100 yard berm, and was pretty consistently hitting the lighter color dirt spot. It's probably about 8" or so. Not certain, but I was able to hit it.
So all in all, this range trip was much better. I didn't want to have to stick with CCI Minimags because I really don't have much of it. So....yay!
