Look promising. Let us know how it shoots.

I love my M&P 22, but that extra capacity has me interested.

RWS,

After putting several hundred rounds through my own TX22, I am predicting you will be more than satisfied with yours. Far more accurate than it should be, likely due in large part to the sweet trigger.

The schematic does not answer the main question about the action: is the striker cocked when the slide opens or when the slide closes?

when the slide closes which can be deduced by looking at the striker and sear engagement angles in the schematic

That is how it appeared, but I am not familiar with how the impact insert (#35) might function.

How stiff is the recoil spring?

the impact insert is pinned into the slide and is what you would call a breech block

recoil spring measures 10.3 lbs when pressing slide open on a scale

That is what I was searching for; thank you!

Taurus makes a striker-fired .22 work with a relatively heavy recoil spring (my wife's Ruger in SA has a 3-lb recoil spring and my DAO Sig has a combined hammer and recoil spring weight of 7.5-lb).

They seem to last about four hours at the shop. First two went out within minutes of being put in the showcase. Reports back indicate good reliability, fairly good accuracy but without an assist, the mags are a pain to load. I think they have a winner.

For an inexpensive gun...so far so good for me. Got mine online for $280.99 plus $15 shipping plus $10 local FFL transfer...no CC fee or sales tax

I've put approximately 300 rounds of various brands thru mine with out a hiccup in initial use of this gun. One thing so far I don't like is the rear sight. The magazine loads easily though...I don't know why others are having a problem.

video I made showing thumb loading the TX22 mag

Some of the guys are pretty arthritic in the fingers. At 74, I just bought my first mag loader.

I just this afternoon picked up a TX22 at my LGS. Good reports pushed me over the edge. Can't wait to try it out. FWIW $309 + tax and $2 state police fee.

I've been reading posts of people having trouble using the loader that shipped with the TX22 so I made a video showing how it works. Real basic loading tool with simple thumb operation...press down to compress follower to partially insert cartridge then lift to finish pushing cartridge in.

I've had mine for about 3 weeks now. I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, but I was astounded how light this pistol was. Despite its weight, it feels quite solid. It's about the most ergonomic .22LR pistol I've experienced, possible more so than my excellent Buckmark. I hope it's as accurate.

Did it come with the worst customer service and warranty in the industry?

Nice to see Taurus putting out what seems to be a great little gun. Lots of positives written, none of the usual bashing. Put a couple hundred downrange soon and tell us how it shoots for you .

I’ve had three Taurus revolvers, a 66 that I sold in a budget pinch in the late 1980s and a 94 and 941 rimfire I still own. I’ve always liked them, no issues here.

Stay safe!

it came with a limited lifetime warranty Warranty Link

shows how much you Taurus haters know...companies can make a turn-around

You mean the same warranty that's worthless when you send a firearm in 3 times and can't get it fixed (m85). Or how about the warrantee on discontinued models where they give you half of what you paid for (pt145). How about the warranty where they won't even tell you if you'll get your gun back! Not kidding on any of these, and it's not just me.

Those were all recent by the way.
