Tell me about CZ 75 please

And dry firing was an issue more with older roll-pinned firing pin blocks (you can replace the roll pin with a solid pin and it is never a problem). Not as big of a deal, now and not a deal at all with the CZ-85 combat or pre "B" 75's.

Do the Kadet Kits fit on top of the P-01? How does the P07 compare to the P01? Also, how fussy are the P01's with cleaning and maintenance?

Ol' Scratch,

There's some facts in your negatives. Yes, SA trigger take-up is long, but this is a DA/SA design. The same can be said for Sigs, as well as other DA/SA designs.

If you're willing to pay $50.00 for CZ mags (and I know you're not), I'll send you all mine:p As others have stated, they can be found for not much more than a quality 1911 mag.

Trigger jobs on CZ's can be difficult, if not near impossible with the stock hammer. Ergo, the CZ comp hammer, problem solved for $60.00. There are quite a few custom items now including match barrels, sight options, triggers, grips, Wolf springs, stainless steel guide rods, etc. For such a "young" design, it's climbing the popularity ladder pretty quickly.

As pointed out, excessive dry firing was only an issue on the hollow roll pin guns. Sigs had the same problem in the past.

If it's not the best steel 9mm in the world, it's darn close.

i Own a CZ 75 B
it is a flawless gun. it does have a chip in the finish, but i m sad to say that was my fault. but black magic marker works great!
this gun has a really good finish, a durability that rivals any glock, the thing can't jam.
i have used bulk military ammo which sucks compared to even wolf ammo, and that gun doesn't even hiccup.now i am sure it would love some high grade ammo much better, but i use BLAZER ammo for now, because it is cheap from walmart and it is the only place i can get nine ammo at the moment. but this gun is amazing. i am glad that i got it, i was looking at a beretta 92fs, those are great guns, but they do not have the amazingly lustful grip of the cz.
you need to get this gun.
i am looking at the PO-7 to get later on down the road
that is one cool gun.

P-01 is considered by many to be the best CZ 9mm ever, but the PCR
crowd will contest that.

There are more 75Bs out there than the Compact framed guns, yet the
P-01 is HOT each year since it first came out.

Fits most anyone. Much lighter than a 75B.. and is much softer shooting.

$50 dollar mags, trigger job and a little more info

Thanks for the post on where to find mags for my pistol. It has been a while since I priced them. I would like to pick up a few more. Also, thanks for the advice on the trigger. I will look into it. I do love my CZ.

I wanted to include some info from the March 2008 edition of G and A. The article was written by Wayne van Zwoll.

"CZ produces all the parts for its firearms, save, predictably, composite grips and small springs-items commonly out-sourced industry-wide. "We also contract for the alloy frames of lightweight model 75 pistols," says Milan, "Of course we do all the final machining here." Barrels are rifled by hammer-forging (an exception: barrels for spring-powered air guns)."

The article goes on to explain how the barrels are hammer forged-

"The CZ hammer machine is as quiet as any I've seen, though its massive steel muscles knead the barrel blank with 40 tons of preassure, reducing its diameter and increasing its lenght by 50 percent as it turns slowly with the mandral."

Later he describes the finish-

"CZ pistol frames both steel and alloy, are phosphated, then painted with a special black compound," Milan said, "It is very tough, outlasting a blued finish."

I think it is funny how they temper the barrels. I don't know if the man conducting the tour was blowing smoke or if they do this to temper the barrels.

"One surprise: I noticed barrel blanks stored outside and sheathed in rust. "It is intentional," Milan said. "The weather and rust relieve stresses in the steel. After some months, it is seasoned-much in the way a stock blank is seasoned by air-drying for a period."

Anyway, the article is great. I saved it as I save all articles I find on the CZ.
