Nice score.
Had a laminated Boyds stock in the checkout cart and backed down twice now.
Outstanding, man!Yes!
Today i hit the jackpot. Thanks to this awesome community i found out about the Walmart deals. As many of us did, i went looking for one, the process was a nightmare with the sells lady who clearly hated me from the start and hate selling guns but that’s a rant for another time. Long story short the manager told me that they had a two rifles in the back both in 223 with scopes for 79 each because of the scope, so i told him that i would take both, Thinking about the Savage axis. I filled out the paperwork and after everything was said and done he brought the boxes out and this is what I scored.
Remington 700 ADL in 223 with a scope

And to my surprise a Savage Axis XP

but a small label on the side said SAV AXIS HB CAMO 223, it turned out to be a Savage Axis II Heavy Barrel with the Accutrigger and a scope.
both rifles for $79 each it’s the best deal i ever had on a firearm.

I like the Boyds stockJust do it, get the Boyds stock! I will likely replace the stocks on all three of my Wally-rifles and do some upgrades eventually. My Axis II 6.5CM with Boyds Prairie Hunter stock, Nikon BDC scope mounted with Talley rings:

I have only shot the Axis II .223 heavy barrel a few times. The Bushnell on it I rather like so it is staying. But I plan a Boyds At One stock for it this winter if it continues to be a good shooter.

Did you order it from Boyds?
What was the cost if you don't mind me asking ?
I doubt they will be these ridiculous prices again anytime soon, but we can hope .
Hard to believe there weren't mistakes made in selling those rifles at the prices mentioned. Somebody may get called on the carpet after that sale.
Next year same time ...
Nope, standard end of summer Walmart gun clearance. Happens every year, usually around mid-August
Wish I needed another gun, but don't. I've given several away to relatives already.Nope, standard end of summer Walmart gun clearance. Happens every year, usually around mid-August
No, unless you are a lucky sort, you must have the bar code for the SPECIFIC rifle you want. My three:

One of the moderators ought to morph all of these Walmart threads into one giant thread.
A note, which I do not know as fact, Walmart was not closing these rifles out because they are not selling hunting rifles anymore, several of the stores I visited which did have clearance rifles have since loaded their racks with brand spanking new rifles including models I have never seen at any Walmart before and while there may be a hunting season or end of season sale as is typical, I doubt they will be these ridiculous prices again anytime soon, but we can hope .
What is the model and chambering of the stainless rifle?
Hahaha no I didn’t but i can say that my sling or bipod cost more than the rifles hahahaha3crows, hope you bought a lottery ticket on the way home.
I would be curious how it shoots in stock form.View attachment 940494
My Axis is now sporting a bipod clearanced down to $11 from $45, and a $3 clearance sling. Bringing the total up to $50.65 after taxes. That leaves me with $380 and change left that I can spend on this gun before getting to what it would of cost me at regular price.
I'm thinking of stiffening the factory stock and trying it out before I start buying a Boyds stock. In case I end up deciding I want to upgrade the scope and rings more. Been watching a bunch of YouTube vids on the subject.
