I just got done shooting my second IPSC match. I've been using my CZ75B with great results so far. If I could afford to use my CZ97 and had the mags for it, I'd love to give it a go.

CZ75B Stainless Retro

I just finished making my CZ75B Stainless into a "Retro". I rounded the front of the trigger guard. Picked up the spur hammer from CZ-USA and the old style straighter trigger from a friend. I think it turned out pretty good.

Best regards.

eerw, what is the model of the handgun pictured? It's a beauty.

its the Tactical Sport in .40SW.
just picked it up from forum member Stubbicat.

Like the CZ97? It's a great gun.

Nice Tact. Sport. Do you plan on shooting competitions with it?

Just went to a gun show in Prescott Vally and was looking for a CZ. I guess the higher you go in altitude the higher the price goes. The guns were were so expensive I could go to any of the local gun shops and bought one and saved a bunch. Think I will save the door fee and some money and stay away from these things.

Do I get to join too? I only have a CZ24, 50, 52, 82, SP-01, and Kadet. Not to mention (but I will anyway) a few rifles VZ24, 52, 52/57 and 58. I think this is where addiction starts.

I even "steered" my father into a 75B in stainless. Of course I had to break it in for him. ;)

Disappointed in CZ mags

I have a P-06, one month old, one of the factory mags disassembled itself when firing round three. Seems when I install another mag after depleting one, I have a tendency to slap it in with a forward motion, loosening up the base plate. In a panic situation, I doubt I'll think about how to get another mag in.

I also was going to get a CZ 83, yet after reading about magazine problems there, not anymore.

wierd. check to see how the spring plate engages the baseplate. it shouldn't be coming out like that. if it's one month old, call CZ-USA and they'll make it right. you can also check with angus or CZ-UB or CZ-USA themselves at czforum.com.

and fwiw, CZ gets their mags from Mec-Gar in italy. they are the OE for just about all the big names, including amt, beretta, fn, browning, colt, cz, imi, kimber, naa, remington, sig arms, s&w, springfield armory, sti, tanfolgio, taurus and walther. so, your problem can show up even if you decide to switch gun manufacturers.

RMAC... as BS said, check your spring-plate... also, did you ever take-apart or clean your mags yet? You might want to check that 'little nub' that goes into the hole of the rubber base to secure it...Cleaned my mags once, didn't get that baby lined-up right and she started coming apart. That's something real minor... as BS said, call CZ and maybe all you need is a new mag. As they say "Don't sweat the little stuff!"

I have a Meg-gar mag that seems to be better built. That's what I have for the second mag, factory in the pistol now.

Note the different plastic bottom piece.

Factory mag on left, and top.

Sure would like a CZ 83!

that's the same baseplate that comes with the SP-01 magazines. i don't see why it would be coming out like the way you describe. that happened to me at a match once, but my magazines were dirty from the sand pits we were shooting in and i didn't reassemble the magazine right. i caught the baseplate sliding foward before the contents were dumped out. that would've been terrible for my score, but a pretty good laugh for everyone else! lol! :)

borntwice and deer hunter, see my previous post #489. all your CZ mags should have 'mec-gar' somewhere on there.

mec-gar is to guns like delphi, johnson controls, and american axle is to automobiles. they are a major parts supplier to large, major manufacturers.

Craig,
That sure is a pretty pistol.
I am waiting for my SS to do something very similar.

tekarra;

Thank you. I really do like the look of all the stainless and nickeled CZ pistols. I just wanted my stainless to look a little different. :)

Chortdraw;

I'd try the gun shows in Phoenix or even Tucson (where I live). I've seen some great deals on CZs at the Crossroad shows.

Best regards.

I've been looking over at the Ghost custom CZ shop and drooling a bit. I would love to have their extended mag-wells on my CZ75.

10 shot groups @ 7 yards. I should have been able to get all the shots in the X. I put 355 rounds through the gun so far since 05/28 and havent had any malfunctions. Ive only used one of the mags and havent cleaned out the barrel or done anything further than wiping down the rails and lubing it. The trigger still feels rough when it engages the sear so I usually have to pull with a quick motion instead of pulling slowly.
