Pictured is my CZ SP-01 with wood grips, competition hammer, single action trigger, and removed firing pin block [all done by an excellent gunsmith]. The pull and take up of the trigger is very 1911-ish [has set screws for both ways of travel].

I got this gun back when I was wanting a 1911 [because of the trigger], so was looking at the Para Ordnance high capacity model [in 9mm], but on a forum [when asking questions] people suggested the CZ. Being that the CZ was a DA/SA, and having a SA mode that has a fair amount of creep and travel after the shot, . . . I was still more interested in the Para until I found information and a gunsmith who would put a SAO grigger in it and make it to where it was like the 1911 trigger. He was successful and now I'm SO glad to have this gun over a Para.

Thanks for the nice compliments it is my favorite carry and one of the best shooters.

To re-quote the OleCodger... "That's downright purty!!" You did one beautiful job dressing-up that little baby fritz...
I wish someone at CZ would see these pics and do a run of 'brushed stainless' on their PCR/Compacts along with the 75B...
Would LOVE to get a 'mate' for mine!!!

You can get the same grips from CZ just ask for the half checkerd they are Coco bollo

Just checked....they're out of them.....same thing when I checked a couple of months ago.....guess I need to check more often!

Schmeky, go ahead and "bite the bullet". Have it shipped up here to me and I'll check it out, also break it in for you so all you'll have to do is enjoy............................................when you get it......

Well, I gotta admit, I need another CZ pistol like a hole in the head........but they sure are good looking.

Oh yeah, and I better add. OleCodger, before you make me the same kind, generous, and benevolent offer that you made to schmeky. Sorry but with the current state of the economy, and fuel prices rising as the are, I have to cut back somewhere. :neener:

Well, CZGuy, I have a reeeeeal problem. I already have a CZ-75B black version and was perfectly happy until that Fritz feller had to show off his stainless with all those fancy stage crutches he used around it. And GZOh didn't help matters any. Now I see I have three choices.....1. Keep what I have and try to be happy, 2. Try to sell my black model and buy a new stainless, 3. Take sandpaper and steel wool and transform my black model into a stainless......

Option #3 would sure be the cheapest but I'm basically lazy and that would take a lot of work....

I'd even sweeten the pot a little with you and send along a box of Wally World Federal's just to show my appreciation..........and you could keep the brass.......

Sorry OleCodger but if you do get one you can pay me back with a picture of a newer one:)

trying to convince my dad to get us a CZ97. he isn't to interested. any ideas of how to convince him?

My son shot my CZ97 for the first time last week. (Along with 4 other pistols he was familiar with) All he kept saying was how sweeeeet the 97 was. We were shooting a 12" steel plate at 100 yards (pistol pits were shut down) and hitting it with reasonable regularity. It sure did like the Zero 185 gr JHP.
