The face of RKBA

Oleg,
I vote for the first rendition, but it's the difference between A and A+.

Did you take any pics of her with the AR? You know that she can really shoot that big .308 battle rifle, but to folks who haven't seen her shoot it, it might come across "posed" or somewhat as a "stretch." With an AR, anybody can readily believe that she can shoot and hit with it all day lont. Just my dos centavos.

Okay, I'll ask...

Does she have an older sister? ;)

Seriously, I really like the east/west dichotomy. The blue jeans are a perfect touch.

I also like the fact that you have such a petite model posing with a serious EBR.

From Oleg's original post :
female, non-white, non-Christian

ummmmm... I can tell from the picture that she's a beautiful, young female and non-white but non-christian ?

I, also, like the message that just the picture alone makes but I really didn't see the non-christian that Oleg is talking about. Where are you going with that idea, Oleg?

I mentioned non-Christian to illustrate that US Muslims often support RKBA and our civil rights...and it would behoove us to support theirs.

I'm a 33 year old Christian on the redneck side and I hope, at the end of the day, people like me and the model and anyone else like her are all on the same side... Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness, and the Second Amendment. It's all about being an American.

Amen! And I agree with everybody else that that's a great picture and a beautiful girl. Somebody else made a good point that there's no reason to think she's not a Christian just because of her ethnicity, but the picture does indeed break conventional stereotypes.

I have noticed that within the last few years, the demographic of my students has changed dramatically. It is especially rewarding seeing more and more women take personal protection seriously. I would say that at least 30% of my students for CWP classes are female. Anything from married couples where the wife/girlfriend takes interest with the man, also alot of single parent females, alot of retired senior citizen widows, etc. Also alot more hispanics in particular. ( I am in Florida, so demographically, alot of senior citizens, as well as large hispanic population. ).
Now, aside from CWP courses, I am seeing more and more women in shooting sports as well as several RSOs at our club (range safety officers). etc. I am also very happy to see more and more manufacturers marketing accessories toward women, ie grips, holsters, etc. The demographics are certainly changing and its a good thing, we need strength in numbers. Minorities are also starting to learn the lessons of history and understand that one of the weapons of oppresion is dissarmament. Again, I hope this propells us into an age of firearms enlightenment instead of bolshevism. It will be a difficult fight, but one that I am confident we can win when there is strength in numbers and diversity.

The Great American Melting Pot is supposed to blend all disparite examples of humanity together in the great experiment known as The United States of America, which driving force is individual freedom and liberty.
Of course, that was before the Great Society, New Deal, the 60s, etc.
So when Oleg shows someone who will stand the wall with us, I applaud. Shoulder to shoulder, white, black, bronze, copper, male, female, undecided, Christian, Jew, Muslem, Hindu, Shinto, all defending one thing, the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Insert appropriate theme music here.

As a levergunner, I appreciate the levergun photos too. Somebody else mentioned the message to the crowd that says "they'll never come for my .30-30" and that's way too true... once they ban everything black and evil-looking, they'll ban the sporters. Once they ban anything that shoots more than once without reloading, they'll ban the single-shots too. My main deer rifle is a 1971 Winchester '94 in .30-30... I've posted plenty of times about it and it's quite effective on deer and most anything else. I've killed deer with it and won a bucket shoot against buffalo rifles... with a Winchester .30-30 with Lyman #2 tang sight.

As I said on Oleg's blog post, now the girl (with the PTR-91) needs introduction to the M1 Garand and Winchester .30-30.

faces like this: female, non-white, non-Christian

whow whow whow

back the wagon up

You sure as hell can tell the gender and ethnicity of a person by looking at their face, but you can tell their religion as well?

I am all for christians, jews, athiests, muslims, daoists, taoists, hindi, general spiritualits, or whaever other religion backing all of our fundimental rights.

however, I don't think you can tell religion by looking at someone's skin color

My explanation (which included religion) was for those THR folks who habitually exclude Muslims from their definition of "American". If you aren't such a person, ignore that detail.

I watched the documentary "Islam v Islamists" on PBS tonight.

It was truly eye opening.

I gained three overriding points from it:

1) A relative minority of Muslim extremists give Islam a bad name
(and some of the stuff they espouse is worthy of a Stephen King novel).
2) The large majority of Muslim's in the US are not extremists,
but oppose the extremists and value the idea of freedom of thought, choice and democracy.
3) It's a film that everyone should watch.

I have PM'ed with you in the past and commended on your efforts to introduce this family and others to responsible use of firearms, and this pic says a lot = A+ compostion. I applaud your contribution in bringing about the awareness that not everyone follows/fits the stereotype which is so often portrayed in the media... it's the select few giving all a bad name!
My origins are traced back to Pakistan, but my family resided and worked in Kuwait...but that was taken care of as we got displaced during the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait. Shortly thereafter, I moved to MI to pursue college and have since come to know USA as my home and am in the process of getting my US citizenship! :D And b/f anyone jumps on me, I didn't jump the border of such...I have worked and earned my keep here!
Anyways, I have come to respect and take comfort in the rights of being a US citizen, least of which = RKBA. I have my MI CPL and do my best to educate my family and friends and their RIGHT to exercise this...or loose it, as is often the case.
Thank you for bringing attention to this and I appreciate it! :) Keep it up...
