Love him to death, but the guy at work is the ultimate 1 upper. I bought the shirt from glock that says. All day everyday, glock stands behind those who go in harms way. He said, glocks suck dude they are cheap. I love sigs. "I went to the range and these guys had glocks and they kept jamming. But my sig never did"

I just bought this new phone and it's so much better than your iphone. Does anyone else have a person that does these things???
Glock doesn't jam for 1 for 2....drives me crazy.

This story may be completely fictional.....If they mimic any real world experience it is complete coincedence.

Sure.

There is always going to be one azz-hole in every group of people.

Doesn't matter if it is two, three, six, eight, or even more people.
One of them is going to be an azz-hole!

One of them is going to be way more annoying them all the rest of them put together.
Could be me, you, or one of them.
Doesn't matter.

Just ignore them unless it is you, or I, and move on.

If it is I, or you, agree with them because they are right.
And move on.

You'd be surprised how many ppl are compelled to "one-up" on you or anyone...

some as loud and brash as to be utterly repulsive, others all the way down to a simple look as if you told them/ shown them nothing interesting.

Solution... see it as someone doing you the favor of pointing out that their opinion isn't worth the time it takes to remember this, and work around it lol

I have one, he's a nice guy, but compulsively one-ups, I don't think he realizes, really, but it does remind me he is an insecure person, and I just try to stay out of it, unless he's trying to pawn off, as fact, a total guess, then I may counter, but again, the worth it factor is always low. hehehe

re-reading your sitch, I'd be compelled to offer to him to "jam my glock"... of course it'd be easier to just tell him "limp-wristing is something Glocks aren't designed to overcome..." but that's just me. :D

To be fair, Fathers Gen 4 Glock 22 did have a stove pipe before and also a misfeed. But those were handloads and were weak. :p
Other than that, They really do not jam. Pretty good pistol IMO.
And it is just that, My opinion. Everyone has one. Don't worry about the gun-store commandos and the range nazi. You go about your business with your pistols and shirts and have a good time.

I have a guy at work that no matter what you say, he has a friend or family member that has the same thing or a better thing than you! If I believed everything this guy said, his "family and friends" have been everywhere and done everything you could imagine! The worst part is HE WON"T QUIT TALKING!!!!!! I'm not much of a talker to begin with and if I say 15 words in a minute, I'm running off at the mouth! This guy will talk, and talk, and talk! Nice guy but....:banghead:

One of my cousins is that way except that he doesnt just voice it he goes out and buys it. If you got a .308 he is out looking for a .309 could be the reason he's loosing his home. To many hobbies and an equal # of folks to upstage.
Not saying he's a bad sort just has to have the best of anything to brag about. If he up grades whatever it is and you ooh and aah he's happy. He is also very generous and will offer someone who needs it the item he had previously. Some folks are hard to figure but it doesnt that they are wrong or bad just wired a little differently.

It's a fine line between politics/being nice and staying sane/getting work done but every once in a while you just have to tell some people that you simply don't care and to leave you alone with their incessant yammering.

My 1 upper att work is way more of a 1 upper than your 1 upper at work..........

This sort of problem exists with my people. They are generally found in group of friends of someone else, since they will never have a group of friends of their own- simply because people do not find it pleasing to have someone constantly making a statement that smells of self-absolutism.

Columbus: Are you one of these guys that tries to one-up everybody else's story?

Tallahassee: No. I knew a guy way worse at that than me.

That guy is like most threads when it comes to which gun is better....

I don't know what's worse, the one upper, or the person that has something and needs everyone else to reaffirm his belief in said 'thing'.

I bought the shirt from glock that says. All day everyday, glock stands behind those who go in harms way.

Of course they stand behind them, that's the research and developement team back there. Can't have them getting shot at...

LOL.. Z-land is awesome.

Just as bad as the 1-upper is the 1-downer...

Statement: "I bought a Rohrbaugh because it fits my hand, shoots good and is easy to pocket carry"

1-down reply: "I can buy five of my Keltec's for the cost of one of those and they are every bit as good"

Or worse yet, the 1-downer/1-upper reply..

1-down/1-up reply: "I can buy five of my Keltec's for the cost of one of those and they are a better gun"

I actually think it is normal. We see it on gun forums all the time. If he didn't think the guns, phones, etc., that he owns are better than other options then he would own something else. Same with you, me and everyone else. I know I wouldn't go out and buy something if I were convinced there was a better option.

If I had a nipple for everytime I've heard the words "Glocks suck" being said... I'd be a cow. Of course, not one of those 1-uppers has yet to prove why a Glock sucks. Maybe cuz they don't own one. Maybe they've never even shot one.
