What's With 1911s?

there's something about the sight axis, ergonomics and overall feel of the 1911 that simply agrees with me.

A lot of us will agree with you -- the M1911 is the most shootable pistol I know.

1911's require hand fitting that a lot of modern semi-autos don't.

to many modern manufacturers are trying to plug and play production line 1911s with unskilled labor in order to avoid the expese related to having a skilled worker hand fit the critical parts.

OBTW, I purchases a NIB Colt m1991 Commander at the beginning of this year and it has been totally reliable. Many say Colt has mended it's ways. My very limited exposure supports that.

Well, actually since Kimber started making re-mastered M1911s using CNC, that's pretty much become the standard.
