The New Glock 45 round....

Since the 45GAP can be put into the same platform as the 40S&W, doesn't it have a much better chance of replacing that round instead of the 45ACP? And it probably doesn't have that sharp, snappy recoil that people hate in the 40S&W.

If Kahr makes a PM in .45 GAP (or ACP for that matter), I'll buy one.

Kahr is planning to release a .45 ACP next year. It will probably be announced at the 2005 SHOT Show.

IMHO, .45 GAP is an innovative solution to a problem that don't exist.
Not necessarily.

I think the problem was Luger had a popular calibre named after him Colt a popular calibre named after it, S&W had a popular calibre named after it, and even SIG has considerably less popular calibre named after it, and by darn, Gaston wanted a calibre named after him. ;)

That may be why they NAMED it what they did, but I think even Glock's detractors would agree that he is far too shrewd a businessman to launch a product just to stroke his ego.

I'm not gonna support the .45 GAP round.

That's ANOTHER caliber I'll have to buy then. Umm... no. I'll stick with .45 ACP thank you very much.

Haha is it available in Winchester Value Packs?

j.k.

i love my g37. this morning i'll use speer gold dots 200gr gdhp.
also, speer lawman 185gr. tmj and 200 gr.tmj. finally, winchester white box230 gr. fmj..the ergos are pleasing, reliable to shoot and minimal worries for me at all times. ymmv!!:what:

I'm not sure about that. He's a rather strange charactre.

Strange he may be--and egotistical besides. But above all, a business man he is. And astute he is in such matters. (Yoda on Gaston Glock--from the unreleased 7th episode of Star Wars) :D

Just wondering if anyone has reliable info (not something someone heard from another guy who read it in a magazine in the grocery store) of any LEA even considering issuing any firearm in .45 GAP. Not talking about authorizing for carry as a lot of LEA will authorize a lot of stuff for duty, and just about everything for off duty, unless that agency is one of those that have a short list of authorized guns. I've seen agencies authorize anything from .22 to the .500 S&W. Are there any agencies considering making the switch?
