I finally found my favorite concealed carry weapon. It has been a very, very long journey and I have been through many different CCWs, and each of them have been well built pistols; but it finally comes down to this.

I purchased this Sig Sauer P239 a few weeks ago brand new and I just put a new set of Crimson Trace laser grips on it today. They provide the perfect amount of friction against surfaces so the draw is always smooth. The CT grips may also give me multiple advantages during a Self Defense scenario.

I use it specifically for Self Defense purposes, and I carry it in a Brommeland Max-Con V or a Smartcarry holster. They are both ultra comfortable and concealable.

I made it purdy and took some pictures earlier which I want to share:

I choose the .40 S&W and .357 SIG as my main calibers based on my own lengthy research and experience, except for when I want to carry (or am able to carry) my Ed Brown Kobra Carry 4" 1911 45 ACP. I bought this as a .40 S&W model semi-auto and just recently acquired a .357 SIG conversion barrel. I haven't yet had a chance to go shooting at the range using my new barrel, but I may be able to make it to the range tomorrow morning to test it out for the first time. I have never shot a .357 SIG pistol before so I am excited, I know I will like it. I picked up a 50 pack of Federal HST 125gr .357 SIG to use as my carry self defense rounds until I figure out what the best 357 SIG defense round is at the moment. I am not as familiar with them as I am with the .40 S&W and .45 ACP, so I will have to do a bit of my own research and range testing.

This is the first Sig that I have ever owned, and until I actually owned one, Sigs were never anything special to me. In fact, I didn't know much about them at all, while I was very experienced and knowledgeable with many other fine concealed carry weapon manufacturers including Glock, H&K, S&W, and Kahr. When I first held the P239 I immediately felt the potential for it to be a magnificent concealed carry pistol and so I decided to give it a chance. I am still open minded even after my new carry choice, and I am also a Glock fan, but the P239 just trumps my other concealed carry options in class as well as in a number of other characteristics. It is, at least, my style :king:

I've always wanted to own the power of the Ruger SP101 but I just cannot escape the fact that I'm an autoloader guy. I just shoot them better, plain and simple. This is about as close as it gets to a 357 magnum considering what platform I deliver rounds most effectively with.

I grew up with and am a pretty darn good shot with a good set of night sights (and these Sigs deliver well in this category). However, I think if I am placed under extreme stress, like a situation where I would have to present or even fire my concealed carry weapon, my thinking will be at the most basic level: point and shoot. What better a way to prepare myself to handle such a scenario than by easily placing a big, bright, red dot on my opponent's chest while still just naturally aiming (of course a lot of practice helps some ;-). That little red dot can be pretty intimidating depending on what end of it you are on.

Congrats. Very nice, kashton. I must say I am rather jealous.

I've been wanting a P239 for the longest time now and I should be able to afford one in a couple months. I plan on getting the SAS version with night sights in .40 S&W. I would probably add CT grips later.

Keep us in the loop and let us know how she shoots. I, for one, am very interested in hearing how you like it.

I will definitely let you know how it shoots! my plans tomorrow are to go to the range late morning or early afternoon.

Congrats on finding just the right CCW piece; it can be difficult. My search was a little shorter than yours, but once you find the right piece (as long as it's not something screwy, like a .22 SA revo), you're "there."

Nice pics. While the 239 seems a bit too large for me, it has a nice grip for what it is, and a decent pull.

The p239 is a great gun. I have shot one multiple times and my only complaint is it doesn't fit my hands. But I'm a big guy with gorilla sized hands. If it fits u well than it will be perfect for ya.so congrats on the gun. It was a very fine choice.
