Thinking of buying a Glock

to the original poster, I've never had a problem with brass hitting me with any Glock I've shot, G26, 19, 17, 34, 23

Let him decide if the GLOCK works for him or not. Just because you don't like the way it handles doesn't mean he will feel the same way. I had a G17 and I liked how it felt in the hand.

If I could have only one pistol it would be a G19. I have had three of them over the years but foolishly sold off two of them at different times. I'm not letting my current G19 go - ever! I don't think you can go wrong with a G19 or any other Glock.

I had a short affair with an XD-9. It was a good pistol but wasn't quite on par with a Glock.

Glock 19 one of the best all-arounders out there....

I got an XD-9 service as my first center-fire auto, and ended up trading it in on a Glock 22.... Liked the 22 so much I got a Glock 19, and love it. The Glock Ergonomics worked much better for me. Funny thing is, that I bought the XD because it felt better to me in the store than a G17 I was comparing it to. As it turned out, on the range I much prefered the Glock.

The point is, everybody is different. It's best to be able to shoot all of your choices before buying, but that may not be possible. If you go with the XD, get a stainless slide....the finish on the blued XD isn't very good.
