Or this set up.

The 1858 target model is over twenty yrds old.

The hawkin is over twenty yrds old.

The 58 5.5" is a yr old, and both are pietta.

The TC Impact is the newbee of the group.

If pietta would had made the walker, I would have bought it from them.

I'm just a pietta fan, no reason not to be.

Here are my 1858's, nothing special to anyone but me. May I join as well? The brasser is about 12 yrs old, and has been fed a steady diet of .454's and 30 grains goex. It has also been shortened to 6.5". The 5.5 is only a couple yrs old, and is also one fine shootin iron.

And cooties eat gunpowder too!

Cooties get into your powder flasks and such and eat the powder.
I got a second cousin, twice removed, who's sister-in-law's, uncle's daddy that will swear to that fact..... No, wait....he'll swear at anything....uhhh, but he did say cooties got into his powder and ate it. I think? Anyway,,,,they got cooties!:barf: I seen it on CNN,,,,or was that CBN,,,,,ahhhh, maybe it was NATGO.......USB....ahhhhh, phooie, I forgot, maybe it was a local UHF show...

I love acting like a goof, it's so much fun!:neener:

Welcome to cheatin charlie, shinbone, ExiledBrownCoat, Dellbert and drftman! I'm thinking we are going to make 100 members soon - as you all know, we have a postal match underway and there have been some great discussions along the last 300-odd posts. What I would welcome is ideas for other stuff we can do as a web based club. Let's hear your ideas!

Have a great shootin' weekend :D

Well, the shootin' match is a great start....thanks, Mykeal.... and I think it would be a neat idea to maybe put together some sort of 'universal '58 Remmie' database, maybe a read-only type thread or 'sticky', that would provide tons of info about the originals and repros as well...dimensions, caveats, etc. Also maybe different shooter's pet loads, etc (starting with whoever wins the target shoot!):D

Yeppers, a database of Remington info is a capital idea. Good call Cap!
With posted links to other databases that are Remington related...

its in a UPS or fed ex truck somewhere on the way to me :)

AFA the Colts, I just dont like how they look compared to the Remington, Im sure they are fine guns, plus the remington can be 'speedloaded' w/ a spare cylinder

One Time, I actually prefer my Remmie over my Colt's due to what I consider to be superior design characteristics and overall feel, but that being said, I own four Colts as well!
They are an integral part of our history and I love them for that, warts and all! Plus, the '51 Navy is the best-pointing handgun I've ever owned.
Love your Remmie all you want, but don't miss out on history.
Take a Colt home...you might find it growing on you!

W/ the down right affordbable price on BP replica, pistols anyway, Im sure Ill add more, like an 1860 COLT New model army etc

Mykeal,
I had my two targets shot, and logged onto THR to get your address.....then read that it was s'posed to be shot on plain white paper. I had shot some yellow notebook paper that I had in the shop. I could shoot today, but snowing so hard here right now I can't see 1/4 mi.

The 5.5-inch Rem arrived from Cabelas. It is a beauty, except for the muddy grips that couldn't be improved even with a refinishing job. And so it is in the mail, on its way to a gripmaker for some elk stag grips. Gonna have Turnbull caseharden the hammer and trigger. Stainless nipples are on order. I was gonna antique it but it's too nice. Will post pics when the project is complete so I can join the club.
