Oh and something else. I cant explain why but for some reason a thread that starts out with a link to a story or another site. I admit there are plenty of those thata re very helpful and interesting but theres somehting about it that eerks me! Maybe Im just that lazy that one extra mouse click gets me! lol

Another irritant:

What is the BEST "fill in any category/object/name/etc."?

Good shooting and be safe.

What makes me cringe is any thread that begins with, "Okay, ..."

Guy, if it was okay, you wouldn't be asking about it.

We know this can't be true, because it's common knowledge that Bill Gates is the anti-Christ ...

Love them all...

I might be alone on this but I love all the stupid threads. Even the ones about the bears waiting to eat us if we dare walk into the woods without a cannon. I love to see the way they run and what they morph into. Usually makes for pretty good reading and maybe even some funny counters by armchair commandos. I especially love it when the weirdos get all worked into a lather when people call them out. :)

I always thinking that a stupid conversation is at least a start that might lead to something better where as silence is just boring. :)

What kind of gun should I get for my partner whom I'm going to harrass into sharing my hobbies whether they want to or not but is who too stupid to choose the best equipment for him/herself.

Usually the title is a bit shorter: What Gun for My Wife?

The other annoying part, The Inevitable Reply:

Get her a Lady Smith!

:D :D :D

A lot of guys I know would be better off if they got a gun for their wife. It'd be the best trade they ever made

:neener:

Couldn't resist..sorry...anyway

Best handgun for bears
Any of the INSANELY, INCREDIBLY stupid "zombie" threads
9mm vs. 45
Remington vs Savage vs Winchester
Glocks are (a)stupid (b) the greatest thing ever

And.....(drum roll please, loud announcer voice)...."AWARD FOR MOST OBNOXIOUS GOES TO...."

Fackler vs. Sarnow (or whoever killed the goats)

Ahh...psssssst......the one that kicks the most kills the best. Any chimp ought to be able to figure that one out.

Trust me, if I could have gotten a gun for my husband, I would have. :)

I must be one of the few women in the world whose husband didn't want them to shoot.

Maybe he was scared. :)

A thread that starts with a link to an article or video no longer
on-line or (unfortunately I have done this) a link with a typo.
(Note to self: Preview before Submit, test link before submit)

Can anyone say for certain if the acronym TEOTWAWKI
(the end of the world as we know it) started with sci-fi
(I Am Legend, Not This August, etc) back in the 1950s?

What gun and ammo combo available at Walmart is best
for a Bug Out Bag for your anti-gun spouse in prep for the
night of the living dead grizzlies scenario?

Threads like this one are the only ones who bug me

The threads that irk me on The High Road are the ones complaining about other threads, because of the condescending tone they always take. Some people don’t get tired of reading about the same subject, and if you do, I don’t see what the problem is, just don’t read it.

Regarding Zombie threads, I always find them amusing. Regarding bears, I know far more people who have been attacked or had their camp/home/car broken into by bears, than by people. This is not rare if you live in bear country, or go camping there.

The only thread titles that irritate me are the ones that don’t give you any idea of what the subject is, as its time consuming to take a look, rather than just scanning titles.

BIG +1

[Notice: I left the "Title" of my response blank for those of you who hate to read threads without clear titles...]

:barf:

It is as if we have run out of gun things to discuss, so we are turning on each other. If you don't like reading about certain items, simply overlook them and go to the next. What's all the hub-bub, bub?

There are no stupid threads. That's why I start so few!:neener:

Honestly speaking, I enjoy a lot of the threads. Some provide more information than others. The scenario threads are always fun. And lets not forget the threads like... I want a colt python, think I can find one for under $350? or, what's the "best" 38 or 22 for under $100? Lets not forget, what's my Jennings 25 auto worth or are they good for hunting? Lots of fun. I try not to take things too seriously, but at times we all get our feathers ruffled.

SHTF threads can occasionally go over the top, but in general they can be VERY useful. Witness NOLA, the LA riots, and other recent events in the US. If i lived in a hurricane/earthquake/ mexican border area, i'd be taking SHTF situations extremely seriously.

Where i live, every 10 years give or take a few we get huge blizzards that effectively shutdown the area for 3-5 days. My parents were trapped in a semi remote farm house for 4 days back in march of 2003. Fortunately for them they had plenty of food and a generator, so it wasnt a problem for them. But if someone had tried to rob them /home invasion, they would of been SOL (they are both anti's), as there would of been NO way law enforcement could of reached them at all.

I find the first three to be of some use to a point, until people start saying they stock, "At least 2,000 rounds of 7.62x39, 5,000 rounds of 9mm, two mortars, 6 rpg's......"

If you've only got 2,000 rounds of 7.62x39 and 5,000 rounds of 9mm you're seriously short of ammo. ;)

I think the thing that keeps me reading these forums, rather than others, is the silly threads. There are a group of posters on these forums that have forgotten more about guns than I will every learn. They are always happy to share their knowledge without being a jerk about it, but the sense of humor shared by most on this bored is what really keeps me reading. I have been having a string of bad days and I am just begging for a, What round for a livind dead-nazi-samauri-koala bear on steroids thread After a while some of the same reoccurring threads do get tiresome, but hey not everyone has been reading them for the last 5 years.

Thanks for the info...and the laughs.

I don't care for polls simply because the people who set them up rarely include all the available options and often slant the choices or descriptions to match their own biases.

Only other dislike are thread titles that are not desciptive.

Other than that, I find it easy to browse the list of threads. If you don't like it, don't open it. Can you imagine how slow and boring this site would be if we actually banned some of these types of threads?

I would also like the thank all the guys on this site who are knowledgeable and take the time to share it. I feel I have learned a lot on this board through reading the discussions/arguments and reading links that were supplied.

Maybe the mods could flag old threads in the archives to automatically pop up once a year or more so we can read them all again. :D
