He pled guilty.

We have no idea whether he would have been convicted in a trial. There is therefore no freedom of speech issue.

Prosecutors can charge you with anything and judges seldom throw out the charges if there's at least probable cause.

For all we know, with a top notch lawyer, he would have gotten off.

Now that he pled guilty, deportation makes sense - after time served.

my 2 cents

Its kind of funny that when the videos were posted on THR many wanted to hang them high.

They had access to the weapons. They said what their intentions were. They had access to the base via a pizza delivery job.

The base if full of unarmed military people and their families. There are only a hand full of armed soldiers at any one time on the base. They would have had several minutes to do damage before meeting any opposition.

News Flash for you ostriches out there. We are in a war with a enemy that does not want land, money,or women. Its a war of ideology.

They said that there is no negotiation either. The West has have two options.
(1) Convert to THEIR VERSION OF ISLAM. If not see #2
(2)They will exterminate the world of Western influences.

Leaving the middle east will not stop them. It just means that they will have to travel further. Sure it will inconvenience them but they are on a one way mission anyway. There is no end until they are dead or we are dead.

We can roll over and go back to sleep until the next big attack on US soil. Then point fingers at each other because it happened again.

I'm a little selfesh, I prefer to fight these people on their streets rather than wait for them to come to my street. It lowers property values.

I think what folks are driving at with respect to this story is something like this.

I hold no brief for the gentlemen convicted in the original linked story, but neither, considering the evidence at the link I provided, do I assume that my frame of reference will remain privileged indefinitely.
