I hate firearms that you have to baby, and be careful with.

So do I, but this isn't a fair description of the AR platform. The AR is very robust and a high performer. Some real world experience will prove it to you.

What's un-real world experience? The byproduct of the design is filthy fragility, not so much that it's intended purpose is not met, but there are better choices for a rifle termed "robust".

Experience BEYOND the tip of the nose is needed.

"Real world experience?" So I guess 6 years in the Army wasn't real enough? I suppose sitting on a bench would prove its "robust" design?
