You try getting a photo of those kids without smiles! :D Seriously, I want to sneak up on the viewers with the idea.

Background Too

Oleg,

First of all, I love the applicability of the quote. It is one of my favorites from JRRT. Secondly, it took a minute for me to see "True Love" in the background. I very much like the nearly subliminal message there.

For photographic constructive criticism, is there just a tad too much flash showing on mom's forehead? I'm looking to the littlest girl's lovely skin tones by comparision.

By the way, start to finish for a project like this, how much time do you expend per poster?

Thanks again,

John

Gotta love the smiles! Broad smiles & belly laughs are the currency of a loving home.

Hey, if the antis use the death of children to push their agenda, why can't we use the life of children to push for RKBA.

"Do it for the children," indeed. I can't think of a better reason to exercise my RKBA than on behalf of my family.

Keep the smiles. It humanizes the people in the picture and probably makes them more appealing to those who don't like the pro-gun message.

Why should an armed mother have to look dour?

For this picture, I would use

a different Tolkien quote:

The women of Rohan learned long ago that those who do not carry swords can still die upon them.

(Or words to that effect) - Eowyn of Rohan

I like the quote, but would attribute it to Faramir, the Tolkein character rather than Tolkein himself.

"Faramir, Prince of Ithilien, in The Two Towers, by J.R.R. Tolkein."

Now isn't that sweet!

Lovely phioto...

It conveys that "it" is just another member of a tight - and joyful - family.

Really nice, Oleg.

Makes sense. Tolkien wrote much of the LoTR during Britain's Finest Hour. Dodging luftwaffe bombs and cruise missiles must have left their mark on his characters.

Rumor has it that Tolkien said the character he most closely identified with was Faramir, so in a way the quote could be attributed to Tolkien.

So the kids are hamming it up for the photographer... But really, that's what kids do and the poster shows the natural consequences. The mother's smile is that of a loving parent. I'd go with the image as it is... :D

But anti-gunners wil hate it.

Too much flash reflection really couldn't be helped with front light. Could have used matte make-up but didn't have any on hand.

Us housepainters are telling the professional artist what to do:rolleyes:

Just curious, are these people models that don't even own a gun, or is she an actual mom who owns that gun and those are her kids?

I post here to get advice, then review the advice for viability. Sometimes, I change the wording or other aspects of the poster.

The models are a real family, one of them works with me. They are both extremely intelligent, personable and excellent shots. The Glock and the cell phone she's wearing are mine. The holster comes from my buddy Jason http://jsholster.com

Props are what I had on hand. Most of the add-ons are from Lyle at http://ultimak.com

Looks a bit like my neighbor!

I have a neighbor who is a detective with the Richmond PD. She's a very nice lady and I don't consider it at all odd that whenever we meet at the mailbox she usually has a .40cal Sig Pro hanging in a shoulder rig. Not unusual at all. In fact, it's a lovely accessory that more women should try! :)
