I posted this to FB, probably going to tick a few people off. Just wanted the opinions of some here if it is overly-aggressive, just about right or not enough:
Attention to all of my friends here: We're pretty much all on the same page regarding the legislation being pushed through here in CO to infringe on our right to keep and bear arms. I am saddened, however, by the number of people who will piss and moan about it, but are too goddam lazy to even write an email or make a phone call to the congresscritters and the governor of our state in defense of our rights. If you know such people, PLEASE, implore them to take an hour out of their day and do this. If we don't get a loud enough, clear enough message to the senate and our governor, these ridiculous bills WILL BECOME LAW! That means numbers, as in numbers of phone calls, emails, faxes and paper letters urging them against this.
I have sent over 5 dozen emails, several paper letters, made many, many phone calls, taken 3 days off work this month (unpaid; I'm self-employed) to be at the capitol in protest/opposition testimony, spent my hard earned money on fuel and parking to do so, in addition to significant contributions to the NRA and RMGO. Please honor my efforts and those of others who have made such sacrifices by at least contacting your representatives and John Hickenlooper.
This is the fight of our generation here in Colorado; let's not forfeit because it's inconvenient to spend just a little bit of time and effort opposing this legislation. If these bills are signed into law, you will:
-Not be able to buy OR sell any magazines holding more than 15 rounds
-Not be able to loan a firearm to or borrow a firearm from anyone outside of your immediate family (cousins, step-parents, in-laws, etc, are NOT considered immediate family under this law) without a background check.
-Pay for each background check, and the fee is not fixed; They could make it $1,000 if they want to.
-Not be able to carry concealed in any college campus structures OR facilities used by a college, including stadiums, lecture halls, etc.
Let's beat this garbage! Tell them no, we want real solutions, not garbage that disarms the law abiding and emboldens criminals. Tell them to actually start PROSECUTING the criminals who violate current gun laws before we even talk about new ones.
Yes, I know this post is aggressive. It has to be. And let's be honest; If it offends you, that means you're one of those who hasn't made any effort in this fight.
We all have busy lives, and I know it sucks to take time for this stuff. But it has to be done, and it's up to each one of us.
Thank you for taking the time to read!

Mods: Please humor the couple of border-line words. Without those included, people will not be able to judge what I've written honestly and effectively.
