Too many handgun calibers

22 short is about a tenth of the energy as .45 or 9mm out of a pistol so it’s clearly inadequate and not comparable to either. Kind of a silly question.

with 9mm you get flatter trajectory, longer range, same energy, twice the rounds, twice the magazine cap (compared to the brick 1911)

huge advantages.

With the .45 you get bigger holes, and in a survival situation, more shot for lizards and tweety birds, plus a bigger flare round.
