Top 10 Manly guns

I am a member of that site, under a different name. It's, well, about as different from the High Road as you can get and still be on the same planet.

Unfortunately, I only own one of 'em, the M44.

Hm. I don't own any on the list. They seem, therefore, to be pretty manly.

But, my husband owns an 870 only because I gave it to him as a gift, which I did mostly because I wanted it (yeah, women do that too.)

An m44, though is my very nextest gun. I went shopping for one a couple weeks ago and settled on a 91/30 because it was a better deal compared to available M44's, with matching numbers and a good bore.

And a k31 and an AK are on the short list, scheduled for sometime before next fall.

And a 1911 on the wish list, for asap.

So, at five out of ten on this woman's list, I'd say guns are pretty much just cool, even the manliest of them :D

I own 6 of those as well, with a 7 and 8 being on the wish list. I will never own a Barrett (although I would like to, I guess), and I doubt that I will ever buy a .44 mag unless it says "Ruger" on it, so 80% manly is about as manly as I can possibly be.

How is the Glock manly? not starting a gun war, but nothing screams manhood about a glock. a 1911 has history, a m44 has heft, concusion, and a pig sticker, a barrett is just massive, an AK is a literal rite of passage in many cultures, and an m16 represents american military. 870 is a 12gauge. SW is dirty harry, K31 is the legendary swiss militarism.

but why the glock and SMLE
glock reminds me of mall ninjas and guys name Gaston
the SMLE reminds me of people named Nigel Wimpsnapple

I guess I'm not so manly as far as that author is concerned. I only own one of the guns on that page, in a 1911A1. To be fair though I suppose the only reason I don't have the AK and AR are because I live in NY. New York just isn't a very 'manly' state.

I don't really think a glock is particularly manly either.

This is my non class 3 list of manly man guns in no particular order

S&W M29

Winchester 1895 in .405

Colt Single Action Army

1911

1897 Trench Gun

1901 lever action 10 gauge

SPAS-12

AR-10

M14/M1A1

K frame S&W in .357 mag

The SMLE (or Smelly) is probably manly for the same reason as the M44. Big bayonet, used to win wars, etc.

As for the Glock...durability is manly.

Got 7 out of 10. I'm missing the SMLE, K31 and the S&W 44mag. The K31 is easy to fix, but will have to definitely save up for the SMLE and 44. Some day soon maybe.

Let's see:

Two for sure (AK and Enfield), two almost (M38 instead of M44, M19 instead of M29), and one just as good (XD instead of Glock).

Getting there.
