#10 Double Action Revolver, adjustable sights, 4 inch barrel minium, .357 magnum or larger chambering. Nothing says manly like a solid wheelgun.
#9 K-31 swiss. A surplus firearm gem. Half the incredible accuracy comes from a wonderful gun, the second comes from the wonderfull cartridges. I think you would be hard pressed to select more bang for your buck in the world of surplus rifles. If you don't own a K-31 but instead own a Mosin-Nagant instead, you may claim 1/2 man points, your tetosterone pointed you in the right direction, but your brain let you down, should have spent a little more for something much more wonderful. If you have 3 or more Nagants, stored for TEOTWAWKI, you may claim a full man point. If you own a K-31, Mosin-Nagant, Mauser 98K, and SMLE, you may claim one bonus man point.
#8 12 guage repeating shotgun with full length magazine tube, pump or semi-automatic. Nothing says 'time to clean house' like buckshot. Nothing says 'chase that grizzly out of your tent' like 12 guage slugs. You may claim 1/2 man point if you have a 12 guage with sporting length barrel and sporting length magazine tube, but have something beyond birdshot in the tube instead. If you have the above sporting setup in 10 guage, you may claim full man point.
#7 Battle rifle. G-3, FN-FAL, M-14 and the like. True power, large capacity, rugged battle proven firearms.
#6 Springfeild XD in 45 ACP. With a polymer pistol this size with 13 shot capacity, there is no need for 40 or 9mm, only take half a man point if you have them. If you possess a double stack 1911, for example a Para-Ordinance P13, no need to duplicate it with a polymer double action, you may count such a gun both here AND in the #2 spot. If you own a glock purchased after 2001, take away 1/2 man point for being unable to think for youself now that there are a wide array of equally quality polymer pistols on the market, if you really selected a glock above all of it's competition for it's great features, you would have had one back in 1990.
#5 AR-15, manly rifle carried by men AND women in today's army. If you have an AR-10 instead, score one bonus man point.
#4 Sig 210. A classic gun of great refinement, enough to make up for the lackluster cartriges it is avaible in. This gun is the cufflinks and tie tack on your man-suit.
#3 M1 Garand, the rifle that sent the Germans and the Japanese running. Chambered in then 30 year old 30-06, the cartridge that refuse to die. You many substitute semi-only variants of the M-14 for M1 Garand if you didn't serve in WW II.
#2 The venerable 1911 in any incarnation. Full manpoint if it is in 45 acp. Half man point in 38 super. 1 and 1/2 man points if it is in 10mm, 45 super, and the like. No points if your 1911 is in 9mm, 40, etc.
#1 Long range bolt gun, minimum .270/.308 chambering. A real man knows that when it comes time, it is better off to kill him before he can get in range of you. The power to stop a truck with the portability of a light backpack, this weapon deemed 'queen of the battlefield' is your true symbol of manlyness in the same way the sword of the middle ages marked the knight. No points if the recoil is greater than you can handle. One bonus man point for 300 winmag class catridge, AND you are able to put 1 MOA groups on paper at 300 yards. 1 and 1/2 bonus man points for 338 Laupa class cartridge AND you are able to put 1 MOA groups on paper at 500 yards. 1 and 1/2 bonus man point for 'africa big 5' grade chambering that you can handle quickly and accurately enough to hit a fast moving pop-up at 50 yards.
Penalty man points
- You gain no points for having a .22LR rifle. However, you are penalized 1 man point if you do not own one or have ready access to one.
-You loose 1 man point if you possess a Desert Eagle. A real man is also real. this penalty will be waved if you also possess more than 6 OTHER handguns, then it is really about having a fun toy, not because you think it is useful or makes you a bada$$
