Here is what I believe to be the most recent list of handgun sales data in the US. 2012 numbers. Not surprising, Ruger dominated making 1,247,299 handguns in 2012 producing over 400,000 more handguns than # 2 S&W.

Glock is listed at #5 with 131,550 but the BATFE only counts its GA made guns, not its Austria made ones. I wonder how close they actually come to Ruger? What about Taurus?

Also I wonder if this included non US companies, which ones would make the list? Springfield Armory/XD maybe

Good post!....

That's informative(slightly dated for 2012 but that's the data).
Heckler & Koch isn't in the top 10.
Neither is Para-USA or Colt. :uhoh:

SIG-Sauer's rank was high but the firm has a few federal & US military gun contracts. The Mk25 9mm & the M11(9mmNATO).

I wonder how the 2014 #s stack up.

Kimber America isn't even listed so I guess the 1911 series aren't as common as 2000-2002.
Kimber America is on the list as Kimber Mfg. I wonder how many frames Burbak made for Ruger this year since the P95 is now discontinued.

The ATF only counts all imports from Austria, so While Glock has the lions share of the market, Steyr pistols would be included in the number.

2013 Austria - 932,117

it would be reasonable to assume that Glock sells 900,000 (maybe 1,000,000) guns in the US. That is a solid 3rd place.

Like them or not, that is impressive considering their limited models

Also what Ruger is doing is very impressive.

The full report for 2013 isn't out yet, but the interim report shows about 953,000 more pistols and about 58,000 more revolvers manufactured 2013 in the U.S. than in 2012.
