I’ve got another 6.5 Grendel build to finish out and the last decision to make is glass. I’ve pretty much narrowed it down to the Trijicon Accupower 4-16x50 or the Bushnell Forge 2.5-15x50. Midway has both of these scopes heavily discounted. Both are second focal plane, which really does not matter as I don’t range with my rifle scope. The Trijicon has an illuminated reticle that the Forge lacks, but I remember working in a fun store years ago and not being really impressed with Trijicon glass for the money. A buddy of mine is running a Forge and loves it and this dude has multiple Leupold and Nightforce scopes. Just curious which way the THR crowd leans with this decision.

Ive only spent one day behind a trijicon, and i also was not impressed with its optical quality. This was bout a year or so ago, and the Athlon Argos argos i had with me equalled it power for power.....at least to my eye. Ive also never looked thru a forge, but my recent experiences with the Nitros would have me buying the forge over the accupower.

Thats my opinion as well.
Ive never looked thru an Acog, and Ive always wondered if they were really that good, or just ok optically, but bloody tough and better than not having an optic.
Ya I thought the trijicon would be nice in the woods, but never really Hurd they were clear. Never Hurd and problems but not good glass, and there cheaper scopes back then we're like a grand.

I've not looked through a acog in a long time, the ones I've used were not memorable. Tuff tho.

The ACOG are very clear and of course tough as nails for the size of the optic package they are unequaled. The hunting Trijicons just have not kept apace with the brightness of mid or higher quality glass since I first looked thru them in early 90s. Good but not as good as the latest Leupold VX3 s .
