So there is a local P89DC for sale for 350 bucks. It's here http://www.907bigboytoys.com/index.php?a=2&b=2236

Is this a good enough deal? I'm wanting to buy a gun that's smaller and is a better carry then my current xD .45 pistol. I was leaning to trying to find a PPK Walther or a S&W .38 for under $450 but I'm thinking this is my best deal. Should I try to find something else? I don't want to spend a lot of money, trying to find something cheap. Hoping to get a new handgun before this weekend.

What do you guys think? Is this a good deal?

The P89 is one of my favorites. Mine is a safety model, however, the DC models are more desirable to many. I don't know how big the XD .45 is, but the P89 is a full size 9mm. It looks like this particular one comes with 10 rd. mags. If you're going to carry a gun this big, you should at least, have the benefit of 15rd. magazines, unless of course, those are not legal were you live.

The safety models are more plentiful and if you shop around, you might find a better deal on one of those. I think a new P89 can still be had for under $450 in most places.

Not a good deal. Depending on where you live, why wouldnt you want the 15 rd mags instead? Budsgunshop sells it brand new for 347 with high cap mags. Granted their prices reflect a 3% cash discount and you still have to pay a ffl transfer on your end, but it should be better. Check out the math.

Local guy has it for 350+tax, which comes to 378.88 (with Texas sales tax)
Budsgunshop has it for 347+3%+20 FFL transfer = 377.41

So... look at it this way, save a buck and you get it BRAND new, not used, and get the 15rd high cap mags. Granted you cant have it *in your hands* today, but its worth it to me at least. Just so you know, I bought a gun from buds a couple of weeks ago, and it was my first time buying online. It was extremely easy, I ordered it on monday and had it in my hands on friday. If you DO live in a ban state, then buds should have the gun available with 10 rd mags. And if you had 32 bucks extra you could get it in stainless.

Heres the link to the P89 at buds http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/21_49_75/products_id/13462

So I ended up buying a beautiful Nickel Plated .38 Special Model 10 S&W pistol. It's used but still good, looks like it is straight out of the 70s.
