While pondering the possible history of some Russian Milsurps during the WWII period, I also was struck by how difficult weapons manufactor must be when not only your country is under direct attack , but the factory where you, yourself work. I have heard that the Germans made an attack on Tula (where one of the mentioned Milsurps was made), but can't find any good information or history of the Tula arms factory during the WWII years. Does anyone have knowledge or a link of history?

The Germans got close to Tula in 1941, but never closed it down. Iskhvesk was the major Soviet small arms producer during WW2, safe in the Urals.
