Let me know where you see a 5 1/2" or 4 3/4 " Colt for sale at msrp or less ?

Get a colt! Then watch all the A uberti owners jump around telling you how all the clones are just as good ! But they ain't !! An they may never admit ,it till they beat some widow , out of one . I saw an uberti Callahan that was put together like a freedom arms . SOLID. But it still was no colt. When colt decided the P mdl was obsolete ; They threw the machinery out . AUberti bought it . So when us arms said their arms were made on Colt machinery , in the old colt factory , It was 't a lie! They imported the parts from Italy , an put them together in the old colt factory . Doing a superb job.but they still an't colts ; but made on colt machines ... So the new colts with the different handle , are only colts , because they are made by the American colt co. In the usa. And can be marked colt . Kind a crazy . But the colt is better whether it shoots better are not! Just pick em up an feel the difference ../QUOTE]

I tested a brand new Colt New Frontier in .45 Colt last year and was gravely disappointed. It shot patterns. Oddly enough, the new Cimarron I started testing recently (also in .45 Colt) will shoot circles around that revolver at half the price. What am I missing?

Driftwood Johnson , made it plan what your missing. About 1998 or when colt had the anaconda out, a little while;before they brought out the.45 model .A coworker , bought one . He was an above average shooter. He brought it to work , after a little time passed (back then it was a free country )and told me it didn't shoot good . I thought maybe it was the heavy barrel 203 mm .Or ammunition . Got some of mine and some Pmc eldorado . We both shot it,he was right, we got to looking it over ; And decided ,that an elephant had sat on the snake! The barrel pointed kind of to the right ,the frame the other way. The cylinder also cattywompus. A call to Colt said , send it an gunsmith in Plano tc. To verify. He did with a detail of what we saw. Time passes (I don' remember) week or two. Reply came advocating it was factory problem and Colt was getting it back . After a respectable turn around (fast to me. It was back and shot incredibly well.(read that super fantastic ) no bootleg gunsmith,no mess,no charge. That's what I meant by Colts better even if they don't shoot good. And Craig I was mostly right with my information more right than wrong. Edm cnc I 'm not likely to ever run em . So I don' take interest .

Deer season here , y'all can find someone else to rag . I'll be off huntin, advise you do the same ,take a kid huntin they might remember you! But I won"t.

Actually he didn't. The gun did go back to Colt and they didn't make it right. So, testing ended. Not deer season here yet, but I was in Texas last week and killed a few big critters with handguns.

No, you were all wrong. You came at this with limited information (gun shop lore?) and you're arguing with folks more informed than you are. That little quip you just posted didn't tell me anything I didn't already know. Like I said, it was machined entirely by EDM, not a CNC mill, big difference.

Then stop posting misinformation.

I've been hunting since the second week of archery. I'm going on an exotic hunt tomorrow. I'll be there first day of blackpowder season, as well as general gun.

The point-counterpoint's been informative, but I think all the useful info's been offered at this point.
