Looks like UK police snipers are using the Ruger Precision Rifle:

Pretty interesting. I always thought this gun would be good in that role, even though it is of course mainly used for competition. The ones used by these snipers is the .308 model with 20" barrel. Very cool. I'm not big into precision rifle shooting but that might change in the new future when I move to a place with wide open spaces and lots of public land. The RPR is on the short list for sure!

Just thought you guys might be interested. I know this rifle has developed a large following and its cool to see it protecting the good people of the UK. I think it's a great choice.

Good to see. Someone could easily spend 3X as much money and get a gun that very shooters would do any better with.

:thumbup:Have one in .243 its a cool firearm:thumbup:

Same here, with the 105 Bergers at 3150 the thing is like a laser through the wind. I got it at a great deal because the .243s weren't that popular. My original intent was to shoot it for a while, then rebarrel in 6.5C. After spending a year and 600 rds through it, I'll probably rebarrel (when it needs it) in .243.

We are very close to the same load,a tack driver. Wouldn't trade the RPR in .243 for anything. I think Ruger discontinued it in .243. A real shame as its one of my favorites.

Thanks for the photo; great to see the RPR put to good use.

What would be even more cool would be to see the good people of the UK allowed to protect themselves.
