The Brittish have gotten exactly what they voted for....Socialist inverse logic. Now that they are disarmed, how do they get their freedom back?

Remember that we had 53 million people that voted last month in the presidential election for someone who fully supports this kind of nonsense.

The language issue is definitely real.

A similar problem crops up when people here (UK, Europe etc) hear Americans on the news complain on theabout "liberals". Because over here the word hasn't (so much) become associated with "socialism", but still tends to imply fairly limited government and respect for individual freedoms, so lots of people get an unjustifed impression of the speakers as being unpleasent authoratarian types.


Although on the subject of "arrest", I was unaware of the exact details of what it means here myself, and I expect a lot of other people here are too. I'm sure most people would assume being arrested implied you were a suspect, and quite a highly suspected one at that.

Ironically enough, I just saw a clip on MSNBC of a clerk who opens up on a robber. Kinda ups the expense of trying to rob in the USA, doesn't it? Oh, and many states still have the death penalty, and the cops search realll hard for murderers. Oh, and your mug is on the camera!

Not a good situation for the thugs to be in.
