ULTIMATE 9MM carry gun?

Also looking for a CCW gun. Pouring over some specifications, I find it very interesting that the polymer framed PPS and the steel framed MK9 Elite weigh roughly the same.

Something to consider. For me, at least ...

Only if weight is an over-riding priority for you.

Most people who consider only weight leave out that whole "Shootability" part.

Have you carried a loaded SMG? No three round burst in my PAWS ZX-5 with the 'happy switch' (semi or full auto only). I'd hate top carry it day in and day out for SD, unless I knew I was going in harms way, in which case I'd take a rifle. Those SMG are heavy, particularly when you have a few loaded 32 round mags. Not to mention harder to conceal.

Now a Beretta 93R or Glock 18 is another matter. :)

KAHR CW9
Slim, lightweight and it can fit in my front pocket of any pants with a No. 4 Blackhawk Pocket Holster. Also carries well on a paddle holster. It has a full grip for anyone with normal size hands and is fun to shoot at the range without kicking out of your grip. It is just ever so slightly bigger than the PM9 and I couldn't see the $200 difference in the two.

A 9mm operator with a full rail? Never seen one before. Does that thing have any recoil?

Yes, it is a Springfield Custom Shop GUn. It's basically built like a Springfield Professional, but with the full rail, and a 9mm bull barrel. I waited 11 months for it after I ordered it.

It is ALMOST like shooting a 22. It's just slightly higher in the recoil feel. I don't have the exact weight in ounces, but I think the gun weighs about 50 oz with the thick, heavy bull barrel.

It's rather heavy for its size, and doesn't balance all that well in a holster.
That's how I felt about my P7M8, even in a top of the line Milt Sparks holster and a good belt. I have three 9mm carry guns. A G19, Kahr CW9, and a lightly customized Kimber Pro Ageis (light weight commander size). Of the three, I prefer to carry the CW9, but the most "shootable" is the 1911...so the 1911 gets carried the most. If I had it to do over, I would take a serious look at the Dan Wesson Valor.

Been carrying a kahr PM9 for awhile its small, accurate and reliable with everything fired out of it. Even during 200 round break-in period its never had a problem. Have tried all kinds of small concealable pistols from small frame revolvers to Glock 26's this little Kahr
has been everything I was looking for. This is just my opionion only ymmv!

If money was no concern, I would be carrying Angus Hobdell's masterpiece, the ProTek 1,9available from czcustom.com), based on the CZ75 PCR, which IMHO is one of the best base CCW pistols made. Unfortunately, the ProTek 1 is about $1000 out of my price range, but, I don't feel undergunned with my CZ P-01.
Some very nice sidearms in this thread, people here have some exquisite tastes. :D

Smith & Wesson Chief's Special 9mm. Like a smaller 3913 and easy to conceal in the summer in Houston.

A lot of nice 9mms have been mentioned here, and several have been mentioned multiple times.

I like the Brownings, both the Hi-Power and the BDM . . . especially in their "Practical," 2-tone versions!

The BDM is a modern, double action pistol with a really sweet trigger, and arguably the slimmest grip of any double stack 9mm ever made. 15+1 in a grip profile NARROWER and slimmer than a 1911 in .45ACP really grabs my attention!

I have also gravitated to the HK P7 series and prefer the heal mag release PSP, although I do have an M8 also. If find the P7 easy to carry and conceal. The weight is not an issue.

My P7 shares carry duty with a CZ PCR which is also a fantastic choice.
