Unpopular EDC?

I'm about as boring as can be these days. I carry a Taurus G2C in an IWB polymer holster. I thought I had sworn off polymer guns, and had never gone for polymer holsters before.

In the past I have used a Kel-Tec P-11, a pretty decent gun I thought, and a Bulgarian Makarov in 9X18. The Kel-Tec was a little snappy, and ammo was hard to find for the Mak. It too was pretty snappy but man that was a shooting gun. Plus, there was something cool about shooting/carrying a commie gun. Made me feel like Boris Badenov.

I had $300 to spend on a pistol and ended up with the Taurus GX4. It had a $50 rebate and I'd heard good things about them.

Some of them were recalled, but mine is newer than that. The sights are good and I didn't expect the trigger to be as good as it is. I've had zero malfunctions. I'm decently accurate with it. The crappy black finish totally sucks, but it's a good shooter.

The GX4 and the holster that I ended up with fit me perfectly for the IWB, 4-5 o'clock carry I use sometimes. So I do carry it occasionally.

It's not what the cool kids carry and I thought it would be more of a range toy, but it's a pretty decent little pistol.

Remington (née Rohrbaugh) RM380; a hammer-fired DAO pistol for when small size really matters.
Springfield XDE-9 - a single-stack, hammer-fired, double-action pistol with a polymer frame that can be carried decocked or cocked-and-locked.

Of the entire XD series, the XDe is the only one I liked

I bought a new old stock SIG P290RS years after they stopped making them and carried it for about a year but ended up getting rid of it.

I carry the Ruger P90. It's one that I never see people carrying nor shooting. It's my favorite .45acp in DA/SA.

That is a chonker. I bought one NIB a few years ago and it's a pleasure to shoot, but I can't imagine carrying one for the limited capacity today.

Somewhere I heard the term "future brick" applied to the P series guns. My P89 is a bit stiff and awkward but shoots with regularity and the P90 is rather smooth by comparison. Much better trigger and great recoils control for a .45.

They are perhaps an unfortunate stop in the evolutionary end of Rugers DA/SA pistols.

I carried a CZ 82 for a while in 9X18. Just a very accurate neat 12 shooter until I bought a CZ P-01. I would carry the 82 again if I had to. I actually carried a French .25 of some forgotten make until I tried to shoot it and found out it didn't work! Colt series 70 after that. IMG_1299.JPG

Unpopular guns I have carried:
FEG PA-63
Czech CZ-70
Taurus PT-145

I don’t carry them anymore, but at one point they were simply what I had to work with.

Sig P232. 7+1 shot .380acp.

My first gun store, brand new purchase. I saw it on the back cover of a Guns & Ammo magazine and had to have one.

It has been all over the west with me when I used to race dirt bikes, along with regular camping and travel.

At the time, I wasn't aware the .380 round is a joke and will bounce off a bad guy's chest. I also didn't know one needs at least 15 rounds plus two additional magazines in order to feel safe.

I am lucky to be alive!

I pocket carry a Nano. The trigger doesn’t keep it from being quite accurate at 7 yards.

And, not to rake up a contentious issue, I had a MK40 and have a K40. Recoil wasn’t/isn’t an issue with either of them. I’d say the K40 recoil is indistinguishable from any polymer 9mm.
