Hi All,
Here’s my review of the above rifle:
I’ve been shooting my new toy at the local gamelands 100 yd range for the past few weeks. Today was the closest to Ideal conditions I’ve had to date (light swirling breezes) no precipitation 50 ish degrees and light overcast. So, I was able to shoot some groups worth posting. I did my best to shoot between the breezes when I could but only the far right group was a complete success. On the others the breeze kind of snuck up on me. The far left group is average, middle group was breezed on a bit and the far right was the best that morning. Target was a 25 meter AQT. Range was101 yds. The ammo was SK Standard Plus.
The rifle itself is what I would expect from Vudoo Gunworks. Excellent fit and finish, smooth fluid function and amazing accuracy!
My only complaint is with the stock by Grayboe. It’s a lefty stock but the comb adjustment bolt is still on the right side. So, lefties can’t comfortably use the quick access comb knob or its edge will contact their face. Fortunately, it comes with a low profile nut that stays below flush. That means you must have an Allen key with you to adjust the stock. I expected my left handed rifle to be 100% left handed!
fortunately, the rest of the rifle more than makes up for that minor design flaw! I have about 400 rounds through it so far. While a little tight for the first few magazines, it quickly slicked up so the bolt now feels like it’s on oiled roller bearings. Run fast or slow I’ve had no function issues.
The bolt manipulation effort is very light with the SK ammo. 40 gr. Federal American Eagle HV, CCI Velocitors, CCI bulk pack 36 gr. HP and CCI CB Long feed, fire and eject empties. However bolt closure effort is slightly more. About 1/2 of the effort to close a CZ 452. Groups open up to about 1” at 100 yds.
my advice is to heed Luke 22:36 wherein it sayeth “if you have a box of ammo take it, and also a rear bag, and if you don’t have a Vudoo sell your cloak (or, in my case 24 lbs of back of the safe guns) and buy one”!
