Score!

I took the morning off today and went to 6 Walmarts, 1 gunshop and 2 KMarts. 90% of the handgun ammo shelves were empty except at the gunshop. "Rod and Gun" in Charleston wanted 49.95 for a box of JHP ammo and 30.00 for FMJ. At the 2 Kmarts, they only had rifle and shotgun rounds. Very little choices, but had .308 .223 and 7.62x39. All the Walmarts had FMJ of maybe a couple boxes. the 2nd to last Walmart had about 6 boxes of blazer brass .40 S&W FMJ ( I have plenty of that). I was looking for hollow points and about to give up. I went to the last Walmart in Goose Creek, SC. "Jackpot" They had 6 boxes of WWB JHP in .40 S&W. My heart was pounding trying to look for a clerk to sell it too me. Asked someone in Automotive to call Sporting goods help for me...hoping noone else shows up to buy it all! So, the guy arrives and I bought 3 boxes. I didn't want to be greedy.

My small town Wallmart had ammo. Just picked up a couple white FMJ boxes of 100 ct 9mm ammo this morning for $20.00 a box. Lots of 38 and 357 there too. Got to love small towns.

Kmart doesn't sell handgun ammo. Company policy for years now.

I got lucky, yesterday I went to walmart to buy some bicycle bearings to fix my girlfriends bike, and I saw a box of 50 remington .357 mag, and a box of 100 remington .357

I bought the box of 50 for 24 bucks, not bad i think

just picked up some 38 special at walmart, its the remington metal case.

it was a box of 50 for $15.47

they actually had alot of stuff today I was suprised, they had a TON of 40S&W winchester white box as well as 1 box of 100 45acp

I have never had any problems with remington bulk stuff

the only things i have had problems with is the seller and bellot stuff, and winchester white box

I have only had my gun jam once on me, and it was with that winchester stuff

and the seller and bellot was making sparks out of my barrel it was crazy like a firework display, I stopped and checked my barrel, but it was just the powder load I guess.

ammo

Went to one wal-mart in san antonio this am and they had 6 boxes of mixed handgun ammo, that was it!!! NO .38 or 9mm Salesman stated they got a shipment in yesterday and one person came in and bought it out!! NOTHING LIKE GREED HUH?

At this point, any ammo of any quality at all from WallyWorld would be appreciated. (Well, almost, anyway.) My local store has been out of virtually everything for weeks. And when a shipment does does come in (that's what they claim, anyway, and I'm not inclined to believe them at this point), the guy behind the counter must be snapping it all up becasue every time I show up -- and I mean every time -- the shelves are once again bare.

Walmarts around me dont hardly have any ammo in stock and one of the walmarts around me has a sign up saying 1 box of ammo per customer.

Bought 2 of the last 4 boxs of blazer brass they had the other day at mine. we had plenty of 38/357 but was nearly out of 22 lr.

380 in NC Texas is like trying to find hens teeth. The Academy guy I deal with said they got 9 boxs Thursday morning and it was sold in 10 minutes of being put on the shelves.

I was chatting with the sporting goods lady and she was telling me that this guy came in and bought every single box of 9mm they got on their shipment and alot of other ammo she didnt remember what it was
she said the dudes total at the register was like almost a grand

crazy, i dont know if I could lay down a grand on ammo, no matter how much of a shortage there was

"Bought the last box of Remington .22LR the other day at my Wal-Mart... haven't seen any more since. My Marlin 60 likes Remington just fine, haven't had a problem."

I have a couple of rifles that like it as well. The ONLY time I have ever had a problem with remington .22lr was in my anchutz. There I would have failure to extracts/ failure to fires (oddly, both problems manifested themselves in the same rounds every time, never one or the other)... minimum of 5 out of every 50 rounds (thats 10%). My mossbergs and the marlin bolt action I grew up shooting both have never had a failure to fire or extract.

Our local small town wallyworld still has ammo, and although it is generally the cheap UMC or winchester white box stuff, it is probably more accurate than I am:D It still amazes me that so many people are buying into this frenzy.
