Walmart ammo, Deal or no deal?

The $9.97 for the .40 Blazer Brass is the cheapest I can find. This summer when I was on vaction, I went to a Walmart in Pensecola, Fl and they had the same stuff for $7 something.

I am super glad I read this thread, I just went to Walmart a few nights ago and bought 2 boxes of .40 Blazer Brass. I normally buy the WWB 100rnd packs but it was cheaper this time to buy 2 50rnd boxes of Blazer Brass. I have not shot it yet but cant wait. Sounds like its great range ammo but not great enough for CCW which is fine with me.

I'm definitely going back today to get more ammo. Walmart has what I need when I go there, and I tend to buy them out every trip. But ammo has dried up locally for the most part, very little at Gander also except they have tons of .40 in the UMC 250ct boxes. Almost nothing in JHP anywhere, so whenever I find some, I better stock up.

I've used Blazer for years, both in aluminum and brass. My little Kel-Tec doesn't like the light aluminum cases, but my 1911, my Glock, my Taurus and my Kel-Tec do fine with Blazer brass in .45, 9mm and .380. Good deal.

I was talking with the owner of one of the big on-line ammo shops yesterday - he said the prices were getting ready to jump again. He just placed a new wholesale order to replace his depleted stock, and the price had gone up (again).

The demand for ammo by the US military for the war in Iraq combined with the massive growth in China is driving up the price of all the base metals.
