Was Keltec's KSG just vaporware?

If they are going to be involved in a market, they need to come close to meeting demand.

why? is that a rule? Or is it there goal 1st to stay profitable? And if they are making bank seems they can do as they wish.

Not saying i like it but its never bad to have a constant demand for your products. Plus its probablyb alot easier to crank out pistols then their rather complicated RFB and KSG

I cant say it is or isn't can you? Because the KSG isnt at dicks sporting goods isnt enouigh for me to think their firearms division is hurting them. Its all speculation unless you or I work there, or have another insight to there business based on more than the KSG.

Wow, people complaining that a protype product, which by the way takes quite a bit of time and money to produce, never mind testing to see if any issues come up before being put into production, is not yet available for sale.

Does anyone think that the reason a prototype was made was to get feed back to see if the product was worth the investment putting said product into further testing and production?

As far as expansion? Anyone try and get a business loan the last 3 years? Forget that how about a personal loan?
Why should a business owner go into debt because they can't meet current demand?

You business 101 types must have taken the Rodney Dangerfield "Back to School" business class with a professor who never in his/her life ever had real life experience.

Maybe Keltec's rush to satisfy the demand for product has lead to recall's and they wish to keep that from happening again.

What ever the reasons, if anyone don't like it let them go out, invest in a company and make the damn thing yourself.

Lobo9er, yes I have industry insight on KelTec.

Feedthehogs, investment money is out there. Banks are a joke for expansion and businesses know that. VC firms are willing and able to invest for expansion and production needs.

My business knowledge comes from running my company for several years. I've got plenty of real life business experience.

money + time = production
and
lots of money + time = lots of production

but no matter how much money you throw at production...you will never reduce that time beyond a certain point. Some things just take time.

The KSG is not vaporware, it just takes time to make lots of them.

But the whole point is to expand it into a gigantic business so we can make a crapton of money off of it. That's the point of businesses.

Not always. I have no intention of becoming a huge company with lots of shops and employees. I'm perfectly happy running everything myself, and my 2-3 week perpetual backlog suggests that my customers are pretty happy, too.

As for KT, I'm sure they could expand and ramp up production-but do you want to be paying more for their products to fund that?

I was on a waiting list for the PMR for 16 months. Sure, it was aggravating, but worth the wait in the end. I have 5 KT's now, will be adding an RFB and KSG, and most likely something else they come out with later.

If you ask me Kel-Tec is handling the situation to the best of its ability. Word was going to get out about it because of the product testers regardless of whether or not they announced it. They brought attention to it so that people could point out flaws in the design. Since the announcement and now they have made a few significant improvements on the design, and are paying close attention to things of even the smallest importance, like the comments on their channel's YouTube videos. If they want to refine their design instead of releasing it asap, and then selling something like the Kel-Tec gen II or III later on then more power to them.

When I originally posted I wasn't fully read up on the KSG history, I didn't know Kel-tec didn't intend on selling it anytime soon after Shot Show `11.

In other words... I patiently wait.
