What are the recommended lights for a Sig P229DAK?
First use will be as a nightstand gun. I'm concerned with having a switch that is easily reachable with the trigger finger to activate, a pressure switch would be even better but I have not seen any of those around. Also I'm leaning towards the Surefire X200B for it's reported wide beam and intense center spot. Anything better than the X200B? Or, comparable light output but cheaper?
And last, something that isn't like a 3D cell Mag light hanging off the front of the firearm (i.e. relatively compact).

Yes, I do already have a Surfire G2 that sits on the nightstand so I don't have to point a pistol at someone just going to the bathroom or getting a glass of water.

In the future may become a carry weapon, with light removed of course. So if anyone also has some suggesting on a good IWB holster for the 229R/DAK that would be appreciated also.

Unfortunately, the X200 is just about the best choice for an anodized aluminum, small light if you want to put it on a Sig. Otherwise, I'd tell you to look at the Streamlight TLR-1. It's less than half the price and brighter, but will mar the anodizing on Sig's rails because the P2xxR rails are not exactly M913 spec. Do a search on Sigforum for more info.

I like weapon mounted lights and use an Insight Technologies M3 on my Sig 220ST and an Insight M3X on my Benelli M1S90.

I’ve put about 100 rounds through the M3 while on the Sig without a problem. It puts out 65 Lumen, and doesn’t weigh much at all. I can operate it with either my trigger finger or my support hand.

Do a Google search, I picked up my M3 for $99.00 on sale a couple years ago. The M3X costs a little more.

I've always liked the M3, and have never had a problem with one.
