Got my webcam set to view scale with more precision.
Works great for these old eyes.

Unfortunately, it does not play well with my overhead fluorescent lighting - the dreaded rolling bands flowing up the screen. I would be blinded in ten rounds with that going on. Tried an LED shop light. No good either.

So will use my very limited stash of incandescent bulbs, until I run out. Perhaps by then, we might have regained some common sense and will make incandescent bulbs legal again.

Hate to hear that. Just ordered a webcam for a setup same as yours and I have florescent lighting. Just bought a ten year supply of florescent bulbs because I was told they would be no longer legal to sell last month.

Great idea.

Based on what I see in that first picture,
you have a lot of power cords near the webcam and it's cable. Try moving those cords away from the Webcam, or putting a ferrite ring on the webcam cord, as well as trying them on the other cords that are plugged into the same outlet.

These are the clamp on style

Another option may be to put a noise filter on the webcam power supply.

I went with a photo electric switch instead of a camera. It can detect the addition of a single kernel of powder.

Then I added a motor to the trickler, it controls. Note that A&D is displaying to the hundredth of a grain, not just tenths.

My webcam came today and just set it up. Very pleased with this setup. I can move my beam scale anywhere on the bench and move the camera with it. $11.59 from ebay.
