I'm a texas citizen now.

I leave for Ft. Benning, then Iraq, on sunday, but I went ahead and established my Home of Record here, and got a driver's license.

To hell with California, I'm done. Too expensive to live there, crappy gun laws.

I'm almost unable to fathom being able to own an EBR, and carry a concealed handgun...

So, just thought I'd let y'all know. And to keep this gun related, here's my purchase list. Please let me know if any of this is VERBOTEN. I don't think so, but ya never know.

Beretta Storm w/ normal capacity mags
M4gery of some kind. Also with normal capacity mags
Another XD, also with normal capacity mags (see a trend here?)
and also a Beretta Stampede and a puma rifle in 45LC, just cuz.

:-D

Get something like a TEC-9 too, it'll make you feel liberated

Good luck in Iraq man... stay safe.

Thanks man. I'm holding off on buying optics till I find out if I am gonna get an M68 or not.

I did however get a really cool Garmin GPS. Now if only i could afford this...

That level of detail is AWESOME.

Anyways, thanks for the well wishes. :-D

Be safe in Iraq. Good for you moving to the Great State of Texas. I almost convinced my wife to move there but she would have been too far from her family. There seems to be an allure of a unique state of "citizenship" about Texas. Have fun and enjoy your new state!

Welcome to Texas! Be safe in Iraq and we'll keep the light on for you until you return.

And don't worry - all those guns are legal. And you can buy all the high cap magazines you like :)

Don't forget to add any handguns that were too unsafe for the idiots in California.

For me, that's a Taurus 9mm Revolver, Kimber Stainless Target II 9mm, STI Trojan 9mms, etc...

Be safe in Iraq, and welcome to Texas.

And now that you are here treat yourself to the highest capacity magazines
you can get. It's good to be here.

Welcome to the big hat state. ;)

All of those will be fine firearms, and perfectly legal.

You might want to look at the Uberti family of rifles rather than the Legacy Pumas unless price is the primary consideration. I have a Puma in .38/.357 but I bought it strictly as an entry-level gun. For a little better fit and finish you should look at Taylor's, Navy Arms or Cimmaron Firearms. Cimmaron is the most expensive of the replica importers but by all accounts their finish is the best. All their rifles come from the same factory in Italy however.

God bless you and thanks. I just got off call this am. I admitted a 81 y/0 WW2 vet last pm. He was wounded in Italy and was a POW. Interesting talking to him about the current war. He said most citizens now have no idea what a true WW would be like. He volunterred at age 24 back in the ole days. Doesn't regret it one bit. He agreed with me that we must nip this thing now or another BIG one may be a few years down the road. But he also feels like I do that the citizens may due to politics of today make a big mistake and wimp out and live the regret it just a few years down the road. His wife said yea but she had a family member whose husband was fighting now and his wife and two children needed him at home. The ole vet rolled his eyes. :D

Texas is definitely a step up from California.

Good luck and Godspeed in Iraq. Keep your head down and stay safe.

When you get back you're welcome here in Colorado too soldier.

Agreed, and I would love to stay and help the fight, but I gotta get myself on solid financial footing.

I intend to join the Austin PD when I get back, if I don't stay in the Army. They pay better than agencies in CA, and housing is soooo much cheaper. I'm tired of always being broke and struggling to pay bills.

Nothing's verboten around here. Only hassle is Title II but you can still have them.

Welcome to Texas!
