Well, since I sold the Imbel FAL I have money for projects. Right now ordering a Stag Arms 3GH Upper and gonna use the previous lower I had my SP1 upper on for that project. Since the SP1 upper was all lonely I have decided to give it a new lower and make it into a more modern style rifle.

Slapped on a set of Magpul MOE rifle length handguards, a MOE VFG, a Surefire Z2 light with Tactsar tape switch, Condor Sling, a scope that I've had for ever, and I modded the Spec-Ops Mag Pouch to have a side sling point. It came off a SKS sling. simple bent the wire piece and slipped it on the webbing that wraps around the sock. Works great! In the future I'll mount a 1.5x Acog on it when funds allow.

The receiver is a GWACS Cav-15 MKII lower. The rifle all together weighs 6.25lbs. Light little bastard for sure and still handy. It's nice to upgrade and modernize the rifle for sadly I see troubled times coming with the way things are going and having another capable rifle for self defense is a good thing.

Interested to know how that lower holds up over time.

I know a couple of guys with cav arms lowers. They seem to be happy with them. One of them shoots 3 gun. I've not seen an issue. They are a good bit lighter than a milspec lower set up.

Better material than other plastic receivers. The lower and stock are solid, which makes it much stronger and hold up better against fatigue. It is thicker in high stress areas. This was all true before cav arms sold, I hope it is still the same quality product.

AR mania is all over the place.it will not be to long before you regret selling Fal

6.25lbs... I stated that in the original post. Light little bastard.

yep, i see it now. I was distracted by all the pictures of the pretty rifle. LOL. That and i scan text more than i read it. I need to stop scanning text. It makes for bad reading.

A 20" at 6.25 lbs. Very nice. Is it 6.25lbs as pictured, with the light, vert grip, scope and sling?
