What’s your vacation gun?

On most shorter, solo trips I just bring my EDC Ruger LC9-s ultra compact 9mm with a standard and spare, extended 10rd mag (+extra ammo). When vacationing with my wife/older teenage gun-capable daughters, I bring TWO guns on longer out-of-state vacations...adding one of my twin S&W 64-6 factory-set dao 4" wheel guns. At my work we *still* carry this capable dinosaur and my wife and daughters are more comfortable with the old Smith & Wesson. And then having two guns with allows leaving one 'with the girls' if I am elsewhere.

I’ve read thru all the posts, and regardless of all the information, I’m just impressed with the mention of the Miroku .38 revolver!!

Although not highly valued and - as I understand it - a product of dubious manufacturing & licensing practices from a respectable Japanese firearms company, I have a Miroku revolver that I do enjoy shooting.
That’s the one that made the cut. It was down to the g42 or the miroku. I don’t have much defensive ammo for the 380 so I brought along the 38 and some silvertip hollowpoint from way back. 0D8E49F2-59EC-4E2B-AC9C-76ECA5ABF41F.jpeg

Planning a trip to Texas and cousin said to bring my guns so can go shooting .That's not good idea to much of risk of theft or being involved car accident. Will only take my EDC M&P Shield. extra mag and .223 ammo for their rifles .

Family vacations usually involve a flight and out of country so no firearms.

My vacation is generally riding somewhere about the West so it is a S&W 329 44Mag or 10mm EAA Witness.

I usually take both my Shield for IWB carry and my LCP II for pocket carry, depending on what each day's wardrobe allows. We haven't generally ventured to states that don't recognize my CCL since I got it. That's not necessarily intentional but it's been kind of nice, haha.

I'm headed to Texas next month for a family get together. My family, my mom, my brother's family and I are meeting up with a bunch of cousins that live down there. We are floating the Frio for a few days, then into San Antonio for a few days, then down to Corpus for a few.

I'm trying to decide if I want to carry my duty gun, my old duty gun that I now own or a G23 I picked up. My duty is a G45 with a RMR and flash light. My old duty is a stock G22 and then I have a stock G23. I shoot the G45 the best but the 22 and the 23 would carry a bit better. And, God forbid I had to use it, the office would issue me another until I got mine back. I'll more than likely end up taking my duty gun even though it doesn't carry as well it's still not terrible.

It sounds like our agencies think alike. As long as we're qualified on our carry gun they really don't care what we're packing. The G45 isn't horrible to carry at all but since you are on vacation I would go with the G23. I promise we won't make you answer calls while you're here. :D

Just my EDC.
We're taking a road trip this weekend and I went online yesterday and made sure everywhere we would be staying for any length of time honored Arkansas' CHL.
I'm good. The weather should be warm, so I'll be pocket carrying a S&W M&P Bodyguard.

I live in Florida every day is a stay vacation SIG 365 .
My other gun was a M&P 40 C With 4 15 rd mags and 4 10 rd mags .
Gave the kid it with 400 rounds for her 50 BIRTHDAY PRESENT

I always take two, H&K USPC, which is my truck gun and my EDC a H&K P2000sk, Magazines are interchangeable and both can be carried very easily so whichever happens to be close by will fit for a EDC at that moment.
