Some Hogue grips are in fact laminate , such as the Rose grips - https://www.hogueinc.com/k-or-l-sq-butt-rose-laminate-big-butt-checkered. If one looks at the rear view of this grip the straight laminations are clearly visible.

The Kingwood grips in question , by contrast , appear to be made from solid stock , as in two real pieces of wood. https://www.hogueinc.com/gp100-super-redhawk-kingwood-stripe-cap-checkered
Again , the rear view shows the wood grain.

"As to laminate boy" , you must be a very thin skinned individual if a simple difference of opinion such as this one - we're just talking about some grips - causes you to resort to name calling. I have am familiar with such Hogue grips , however there is always the possibility that I am mistaken. If so , I can live with it.

With that , I shall take the High Road and retire from this discussion. Sheesh.

Okay, laminate boy, I know what a laminate is, and I know what a single piece of wood is. Those grips are made from a laminate just like most of Altamont's grips are. So it appears I left out a word: "not even a real single piece of wood". Who'd have thunk that a guy would like something that's glued together.:barf:

Don

Laminate boy??

Those kind of disgusting slanders aren't welcome here! ;)

Seriously, he was just pointing it out. Those grips are in fact... not laminate. :)

I kinda like laminates... They're still aesthetically pleasing like "real" wood, but they offer the performance I crave. Polymer/Laminates are tough and durable, regular wood just isn't.

Depends on the species of wood. Some wood is extremely hard.

Just call me "wood boy".
