Modern ( mid 1960s ) but very agreeable.

In 11:00 IWB, at a slight slant, I can bend and tie-a-shoe no problem...sits easy when driving, working...fun to shoot, nice weight.

Well, I could probably fill up three pages of bandwidth; but I will limit
myself to just a few ((10): And they are (in NO particular order)-

01. Smith & Wesson model 39-2 9m/m semi-auto
02. 2nd series, factory nickel 2" Colt Detective Special in .38 Special
03. Smith & Wesson 3-1/2" barrel model 27-2 .357 magnum
04. Smith & Wesson 4" barrel model 19-3 .357 magnum
05. West German SIG-SAUER P220A in .45 ACP
06. West German SIG-SAUER P228 in 9m/m
07. L.W. Seecamp LWS-32 ACP
08. Les Baer semi-custom Thunder Ranch Special in .45 ACP
09. Smith & Wesson 6", six-shot model 686-5 in .357 magnum
10. Smith & Wesson 5" stainless model SW1911 in .45 ACP

Note: These are firearms that I personally own, so they came
directly from my heart~! ;) ;)

Glock 17...I know it's boring and ugly but the damn thing works and requires very little maintenance.

Ruger GP100...An 80's model with the original grip style. I knew I was going to buy it the minute I saw it.

Ruger 22/45...Shoots lots and cheap. Fun as hell to run through a bulk box with.

Mooching around in the woods, Colt Woodsman (made in 1938.) Second place, Colt Officers Model Target revolver (in .22 LR.)

Self defense, Kimber Custom Classic .45 ACP, with a Colt Detective Special (.38 Special) as backup.

Serious woods hunting: Ruger Blackhawk, .45 Colt. Colt New Service (7 1/2" barrel) second place.

Just for fun, I'd have to say my S&W model 25. Older N frame in 45 Colt. Nicely balanced, just about the best trigger in a handgun, and the report of the 45 is a nice satisfying thump and gentle shove. My 357's shoot as well, but lets face it, the high intensity cartridges are not as pleasant if you are shooting for any amount of time.

Has anyone heard of the Sig P229 Operation Iraqi Freedom made for the 4th ID Raiders Brigade gun?? Has anyone seen one? I know that they made like only 59 of these and was wondering if anyone has seen one?

Favorites is a subjective term in that it doesn't necessarly relate to durability, cost, accuracy, quality, size, craftsmanship or anything else. As far as fun goes, my old RG 66 was one of my favorites (at the time).

The Ruger Security-Six is one of my favorites. So is the Ruger Mark II and the S&W 5906. I've come to really like revolvers over autos? Why? Because you have to replace springs and extractors and such. You get a revolver and that's it! You shoot it and pass it on to your kids. And if you have timing problems, they're obvious. You can still succsessfully defend your life with a badly out-of-time revolver, but not a defective auto. If you buy a used auto, you don't really know if the springs need replacing or, for that matter, if the thing even works unless you take it to a range. A revolver, on the other hand, is pretty much good to go after a quick check. I still like autos, especially the firepower, but you need the spare parts if you're going to count on it after a societal breakdown (heaven forbid).

I also like small autos, but classifying them as favorites? Why not? There's something endearing about those tiny pistols, especially the ones the experts say won't stop anyone.

It's a "loaded" question.
