This has got me curious and I couldn't find where this has been done before recently. With all of this talk deriding mouseguns and this-caliber-over-that, what caliber is your carry piece?

I'm not so much interested as to why (because that'll probably degenerate into a this-versus-that caliber war...) but mostly what.

I posted a poll like this a few months ago. I was shocked at the results. Anyhow, what I carry depends on the weather and what I am wearing because of the gun size.

357 Mag / 38 Special
9mm (Not often)
357 sig (Plan to make this my primary carry gun/caliber)
45 ACP

I guess I'm the only 10mm entry so far.

I've carried as light as a .32ACP. Used to carry 5-shot .38-Special and still carry .45ACP or .357 Magnum sometimes.

9mm. For 32 years now. My uncle first handed me a 9mm waaay back when. Those were dark days.

Today, the 9mm is still my companion on a daily basis. It works. It's reliable.

I've tried just about everything else in fits of gun nut experimentation over time; and it's been a heck of a fun ride. But, I've learned what works for me.

Varies...

My normal carry guns are a Glock 33 in .357 Sig, a Glock 22 in .40, or a Wilson CQB in .45.

What I carry mainly depends on the temperature and what I'll be wearing. It's a lot easier to conceal the Glock 33 in summer than it is the Wilson...which is why I prefer the cooler months!

Thanks,
DFW1911

Glock 30

carried IW is my daily carry. I will occasionally pocket carry my Kel-tek P-11, or if more discretion is necessary or my pockets are small, then my P3AT. The P3AT is usually my BUG.

Well, for around town carrie it's a S&W mod. 36 or a 9x18 Makarov. For out in the middle of nowhere I add a 1911 .45acp or S&W 696 or a .357 mag.

I'd rather carry an S&W .500...

But the question was, what do I actually carry most often.

Kahr PM9. No contest.
Kahr P45, a distant second place (and gaining).
Smith j-frame, third place and losing ground (was #1 a year ago).
1911, may gain some day soon.

I'll carry something else as a back-up gun, but I'm always carrying a .45

I've mentioned this on other posts, and even though I shoot 9mm at the range all the time, there is a quote on MadOgre.com that always makes me laugh.. and I kind of believe its true when it comes to CCW. It says ".45 ACP - Because no matter how you rationalize it, 9mm is still for women and pansies"

hehe

My newly aquired 38 spec. in the rossi 5-shot revolver.;) It handles the 38 spec. +ps too!
tommy

9x19mm in a Kel-Tec P-11. It totally disappears in a Galco "USA" holster, even with a tucked-in shirt and no cover garment. Given my 'druthers, I'd carry something like a 1911 or Glock 19, but something that size won't conceal the way the K-T does.

Dirty Bob
