When I ride my mountain bike I carry a .22mag derringer.
It is small, compact, and better than nothing. I can hide the gun in my seat bag. When I ride my motorcycle I sometimes take the .22mag. It fits in my pocket, is not uncomfortable, not heavy, and in reach. I like the compactness. When I drive a family vehicle, or go for walks I have a 1911 45acp on me.

Conceil guns are a compromise so while I'd like to be carring a .357 6" I carry a .40 Glock 27... Holds 10 and it's tiny. Can't beat it.

A Taurus 425SH4C .41RemMag 85% of the time, a G37 .45GAP when I don't have the .41.

ps- I find it interesting but not suprising that the top three cartriges are 9mm Parabellum, .45 ACP and .38 Special.

Sub compact XD .40 S&W is my primary carry.

In real world shooting stats the .40 S&W is rate at 97 percent in "One Shot Stops" with the Federal 155 grain Hydra shoks leading the pack. If you use these stats as a basis. The 40 S&W is the highest rated one shot stop handgun right now in the streets. Next in the .357 magnum at 96 percent. Now I don't believe the theory of the one shot stops, however, after firing all these different handguns I think the .40 S&W will do the job just fine. So I carry it and next in line in my 9 mm Glock 17. I truely believe the key is proper shot placement and I can hit what I shot at with my .40 S&W and my 9 mm Glock.

9X18 Makarov. Wow, I'm not the only one!

But I do prefer a locked breach, which the Mak doesn't have. My other one is a US 1911 (not A1) made in 1913.

A Charter Arms 3" Bulldog .44 Spl (Circa 1979) has been my constant companion in the SD role; these days CCW, for 26 years now. The only change has been the ammo. Back then 246gr lead, now-a-days Georgia Arms 200gr Gold Dot HP loaded to 850fps.

I voted 45ACP bcz that was my carry caliber for 13+ years. Now that I am issued a G22 and have to carry it, I have stepped down in caliber and platform.
