Archaeologist, retired except for the occasional project of interest.

That's interesting. I used to work as an archaeologist myself. I began working for a firm in Delaware at age 16 (owned by a relative). Did this each summer until college. Worked for a professor who owned a contract archaeology firm throughout college. Worked in the field for a while before going back to graduate school. Afterward, I continued working for the company in Delaware. Then in 1997 my wife and I decided to start a family. Contract archaeology and a family don't mesh all that well, so I started looking for work near where I owned my home. To make a long story short, I made a career change, but in addition to my real job I still work at a university part-time teaching anthropology/CRM to keep things interesting :) .

Simple Service. Get in the right line, and your hobbies are tax-deductible as business expenses. :p

Semi-retired unconventional woodworker.

I ain't rich, I just have a low comfort level. :D :neener: :D

Builder of artistic rustic furniture, writer and nefarious :scrutiny: layabout.

Xerox technical sales analyst for production color laser printers short of iGen3 in SF Bay area. Excellent products, but not my life style. Trying to figure out how to afford retirement or alternative income that won't give me even more difficulty than I have now in affording firearms and shooting sports.

By the way, a low 6 figure income in our area is close to poverty. We managed to buy a house in a senior community (1/5 acre) for a price that is unheard of in this area. But then that is the reward for survival to mid life (55+ years.)

In USAF was a 203 and now wish I had not had that fool hangup about the East Coast and wish I had gone to work in Maryland after discharge. On the other hand, I would not have met the love of my life were that the case.

Backhoe loader Test and Adjust Technician for Building Construstion Products Division of Caterpillar Inc.

formerly:

Come to think of it, besides being retired I'm part owner in a gas and oil well (hopefully two soon) as I just got the first royalty check.

Come on gun show.:D

Retired air traffic controller and currently a house-husband. After my house duties are done I pop rounds off the deck, take the dog for a walk, watch my favorite ESPN programs, try to keep my two step-daughters out of trouble, and otherwise relax and dream about my future motorhome I'm gettin' in a few years.:D

Stevie-Ray if you don't mind me asking what was your chemical? I ask because I grew up in Michigan and am always on the lookout for possible ship-jumping opportunities, especially close to "home" in case my job becomes extinct. And yes, pipe-fitter, would be a good example of a job that my job would be a decent apprenticeship for. We have a plant in Chicago, that's not the one is it?

I'm a technical Analyst (the IT guy) for one of the big Cell phone companies. You would think that by the sounds of that, that I would have plenty of cash to buy toys and guns with, but I don't. This whole mortgage and 2 car payments thing is really eating it up. I love my job though, and don't want to be doing anything else right now.

When I grow up, I wanna be M2 Carbine... :)
