I have got 1500 to spend wich can get em a loaded M1a or maybe a decent precision rifle? any kind of good combinations i can get going with 1500? Im just thinking this because if I get a m1a it will be 1500 out the door but i can get a rifle and scope for 1500 and a stock later. Just not to sure what to do what do you guys think? I would love to see some pics of some set ups you guys got under 1500 or so? thanks

Im thinking about getting a remington 700 police. and a leupold mark 4 to start out. Its more bang for the buck i guess. Any pics here of some nice precision rifles?

M1A!!! Just got and shot my 1st! It's a scout squad, holy **** is it fun to blast away!

depends

It all depends on what you would like to do. Do you already have a precision bench rest rifle in .30 caliber or above?

If yes then I would Go for the SA Loaded M1.308 You will go through alot more ammo if the semi-auto and I'm afraid the days of surplus .308 and 7.62x51mm NATO are long gone. Now if you don't have a .30 caliber bench rest/precision rifle.....then I would definitely go for a bolt action .308.

Here is what I would build with $1,500 dollars.

Remington 700 Police .308: $865 -/+ or Savage 10 Law Enforcement (price depends on model most are around $650-$700)

Rings and bases: $50-$70 get good quality steel ones.

Harris Bipod (or similar brand) $70-$100 depending on model

Scope: Sightron SII, Bushnell 4200, Burris Euro Diamond, Leupold MK2, 3, or 4...etc or SWFA Super Sniper scope...your scope depends on what you will be doing...etc how far you will be shooting....but you can get some good glass under $550...and you will have even more to spend if you get the Savage instead of the Remington.

Good luck and let us know what you get!

If your not only interested in a "Black" rifle ?. This Swiss k31 set me back $350.00. And it shoots pretty darn accurate.

Well I ordered my rifle today I went and ordered a remington 700 sps varmint in 308 It will help conserve ammo and It will cost less to have a tricked out remington 700 tack driver than a tricked out M1a tack driver well by my standards atleast. I will post pictures as soon as the waiting period is over.
