GLocks and AKs I know AKs are very reliable and are great SHTF and combat rifles, I just don't see the fanaticism with them and have no desire to own one.

I voted for the 1911. Don't get me wrong, I like them... they are beautiful guns. But I cannot justify the high price for a heavy, single stack, low cap antique. I would take a Glock or an XD at half the price any day.

Intratec Tec-9 is way overrated by the media, at least. It was a 3-legged sheep in wolf's clothing...

And this is an uneducated opinion, but I think the pre-'64 Winchester Model 70 probably has a reputation it didn't deserve. It was definitely a nice rifle (and probably better than the post-'64's), but it has a reputation as the One True Rifle that is probably a bit overstated and colored by nostalgia.

jam prone, underpowered, fragile.

say what you want about the glock and ak but you can fight someone in a (sandbox/mud pit/gravel pit) (buttstroke/pistol whip) them and kill them with one shot. the ar-15 not so much, and its more spendy to boot!

AK's are in my opinion over rated more than AR's, I believe AR's are under rated for their reliability and effectiveness. And you can kill someone in one shot with an AR too, probably more easily their is any distance.

Springfield XD's win by far. They are ugly as sin, and.....they are just ugly as sin. I was NOT impressed with the few I've handled and shot, at least not impressed so far as compared to the hype I've heard about them. Honestly I think more often than not people that can't stand Glocks were just looking for something similar but NOT a Glock, and when the XD came along they were all over it regardless of the fact that XD's suck! That should fan the flames a bit.

At the risk of sounding like a fangirl, I don't get the dissing of 1911's. They go bang when you want them to, at the target you want them to, they've been around for a long time and work like a charm. They're nice looking, easy to conceal (especially compacts) and have class. What's not to like?
